This article explains how clients with Global Payroll direct employees can use the SKOVIK integration as an expense management tool.
This integration allows Global Payroll clients to import expense data from their direct employees to Deel, so that we can rapidly and efficiently process payroll. This includes paying back employees for out-of-pocket expenses.

How to set up SKOVIK integration
Before you begin
You must have an active Global Payroll account with Deel.
You must be an Org Admin, IT Developer Admin, or Integrations Admin-Bookkeeper to set up this integration.
You will also need a SKOVIK API key. You must contact SKOVIK support to get this private key.

How to set up SKOVIK integration
✅ Step 1 – Connect to SKOVIK integration
Select the (1) Apps & Integrations tab on your home page, click (2) SKOVIK expense reports integration, and then click Connect.
You must be an Org Admin, IT Developer Admin, or Integrations Admin-Bookkeeper to set up this integration.
✅ Step 2 – Enter your SKOVIK API Key
To retrieve your API Key, contact developer@skovik.com
Deel can not help you retrieve the SKOVIK API key to complete the integration set-up.

People sync plugin
This plugin allows you to see group members that are managed in Deel and have a corresponding SKOVIK profile
This plugin will help you manage to keep your people in sync, The people sync plugin is a prerequisite for expenses to flow through.
You will be able to see employees that are found in both SKOVIK and Deel, and employees that are Only Found In Deel
The integration matches profiles by checking the employee ID number on the Global Payroll contract.
Please make sure that the employee IDs match in both systems, and then click Refresh.

Expense sync plugin
This plugin allows you to sync approved expenses from SKOVIK into Deel to correctly run payroll.
To enable expense syncing you first need to assign expense categories to payroll components.
Click Configure
Click Configure to begin the expense category mapping.
Assign SKOVIK expense categories to Deel expense-related payroll components.
Select the date and pay cycle that the employee expense syncing will begin.
You have the choice between syncing expenses immediately, or scheduling a future date.
Repeat the steps as necessary for additional entities.

FAQs
[ACCORDION] When will employee expenses be synced?
Expenses will sync when the following conditions are met:
- The expense is in the Final Approved state
- The payroll entity is set up for syncing
- There is a profile match for the employee in both SKOVIK and in Deel Global Payroll
[ACCORDION] Will the integration mark an expense as reimbursed?
No, it is a one-way integration.
[ACCORDION] Why aren't my employees matching in SKOVIK?
If any of your employees can not be located in SKOVIK, it is usually because we can not find a matching profile.
The integration matches profiles by checking the employee ID number on the Global Payroll contract.
Please make sure that the employee IDs match in both systems, and then click Refresh.
[ACCORDION] What will happen if the employee is terminated and expenses are approved after offboarding?
If the account is not deleted entirely but rather suspended, we will add those expenses to the final payslip, even after they leave.
[ACCORDION] How can I get the API key for SKOVIK?
You must contact SKOVIK support to get this private key.

We can not help you retrieve the key to complete the integration set-up.
[ACCORDION] What happens if an expense is approved but the integration hasn’t synced yet, and the cutoff date passes?
In this scenario, the expense will be added to the subsequent pay cycle.
This is why we recommend that before you submit the payroll package, you press Sync on the integration to ensure that all recently-approved expenses are added to the current payroll.
