This article explains how clients can create Learning Journeys with Deel AI.
What is Learning?

What are some features of Deel Learning?

Build courses for compliance, onboarding, or any other knowledge to be shared. Combine elements like images, quizzes, tasks, or embeds from favourite tools. Courses can be in traditional formats or modern ones, like micro learning.

What is a journey?
Journeys on Deel Learning are composed of various customizable combinations of content, messages, surveys, quizzes, tasks, and group activities. In total, there are six different steps to choose from.
Customized messages or notification may be included for each step.
A journey is built out of steps, and the steps are connected in a sequence
Steps
a. Content: A content step is where the content that employees should receive is created. Add text and images, as well as multi-media embeddings such as videos, documents, and forms.
b. Message: A message step is where short notifications or reminders are created.
c. Quiz: A quiz step is where exams or quizzes with single-choice, multiple-choice, and true-/false-choices are created. Quizzes allow retakes. To create a quiz, check out our article on How To Create A Quiz For Employees Using Deel Learning
d. Survey: Single questions or entire surveys with open-ended answers can be created. It helps to collect feedback or ideas for improvements from employees.
e. Task: A task allows the creation of single or multiple tasks. Employees can check these tasks off - like a checklist - and the completion can be tracked.
f. Group activity: A group activity connects people that are randomly assigned to the same journey.
Sequence
All the steps can be sent at once or in a sequence. In a sequential journey, the employee advances to the next step after completing the current one. In a non-sequential journey, all steps are delivered at once and only to the person you assigned the journey.
Before you begin
- Must be a Deel Engage admin.
- Must have Deel Engage enabled on organization.
- Must have Learning turned on under Deel Engage

How to create a Deel Learning journey
✅ Step 1 - From Deel homepage, click on the People icon and select Learning tab.
✅ Step 2 - Create journey with AI
On the All Journeys page, click the Create with AI button located in the bottom right corner.
A tray will appear with options to either create a new one by describing what the journey should be about or select from a list of prompt suggestions.
After describing what the journey should be about, let AI decide the number of steps.
Choose to enable sequencer and include quiz.
✅ Step 3 - Save as Draft
Once done, click on the Generate button to get a draft generated. Make any changes and review them in the default preview mode.
✅ Step 4 - Add Content to Created Journey
When a journey is clicked on, it will open, by default in the preview mode. To add content, click on the open in editor button instead.
In the builder mode, add as many steps/sections as necessary, each one needs a title. Use the rich text editor to choose each section - whether it is going to be just textual, a quiz or task list. And if it is going to have a code block, quote, or embedded media.
Click on the Add button in the bottom left corner and from the list of options select Generate steps with AI.
The generated suggestion can be recreated or accepted using the Accept suggestion button.
✅ Step 4 - Publish Journey
Happy with a journey's setup? Simply hit the Publish button to go live with it.
However, note that a journey will not yet be sent out to team members when it is published. It will first need to be assigned - see our article in the next steps on how to assign and automate a journey.
✅ Step 5 - Edit Journey Settings As Needed
To update a journey later - edit title, description, delete and re-upload image, click the Open in Editor button to make changes.
Once done, click the update button to register changes.
There is also an option to see past changes that have been made to the journey by clicking on the ellipsis next to the edit button. From the list of options, select view version history.
Upload SCORM file as a step and Journey
Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) is a set of technical standards for eLearning software products. A SCORM file can be uploaded either as a learning resource within a step or as a whole course (on a journey level).
To upload as a step:
From the list of step options, select Upload SCORM file
To upload as a journey:
✅ Step 1 - On All Journeys page, click on the Import button
✅ Step 2 - Select Upload SCORM from the list of options
✅ Step 3 - Click save to complete the process.

As mentioned above, in a sequential journey - all the steps can be sent at once or in a sequence. Each step can be assigned to a different person and every step can have a notification with a message field lets clients customize the message sent in the notification.

A journey can be created for any kind of topic. Admins can use the journeys to create any type of process. It is important to always test the flow and make sure the process is delivered as desired.

No, there is no limit to how many new journeys can be created.
[ACCORDION] What is the employee onboarding journey and how is it set up?
This process represents onboarding experience for new hires of an organization and can be fully automated. First, create journey steps that contain all the necessary information that the employees need to receive during the onboarding process. Then through automation, admins can assign the journey by choosing to "Assign on the hire date". On their start date, new employees will receive an automatic assignment to the onboarding journey containing all the information/steps.

For now, admins can involve managers in the onboarding experience. They can create and automate tasks for them. For example, they can set a rule that on the start date, the manager meets the new employee, and on day 4, they check in with them.
