This article is for existing Hofy customers and explains the manager permission levels on their Hofy accounts.
Manager permissions levels
In the Hofy platform, you are able to customise which levels of permissions you want managers to have within your organisation.
You can customise the following categories and tick which permissions you wish to grant each person. You are also able to revoke permissions easily by unticking each boxes.
[ACCORDION] How to promote someone to Hofy manager
In order to promote a team member to a Hofy manager, you will need to grant them manager access - this can be handled within the Hofy platform. Start by ensuring that they have already been added as a team member in the platform.
From there, visit 'Settings > Permissions' to view your current list of managers. To add a new team member to this list, simply choose their profile from the drop down list or using by the search bar and click the ‘Grant permission’ button. Done! Now this team member has access to onboard and offboard team members, create teams, approve or deny orders, request collections and more.

Manages access levels for other Hofy managers and security within 'Settings'.
Can grant or revoke manager permissions under 'Settings > Permissions'
May enable single sign on and two factor authentication under 'Settings > Security'
[ACCORDION] Finance
Hofy Managers with the Finance permission may make financial decisions on the platform by adjusting rental or purchase defaults under 'Settings > Payments & Billing', managing the 'Allowance & Approvals' within each team and can change the contract lengths or types of team member requests.
Even without Finance permissions, managers can still view and pay their invoices in the platform.
Financial controls for orders and requests:
- Changing an order or request's rental duration
- Overriding the default billing frequency
Financial controls within Teams:
- Adding equipment to approved the list
- Adding, amending or deleting a team allowance
- Setting up auto-approval options (if available on your tier)
- Overriding the account's default payment & billing terms within a specific team
Financial controls within Settings:
- Opting between rental or purchase options in 'Settings > Payments & Billing'
- Setting default rental duration or global hardware support duration for device purchases
- Selecting Standard or Standard & Loaner global hardware support packages
- Enabling the Extended Warranty
[ACCORDION] Manage
A Hofy Manager with the Manage permission can action regular daily tasks within Hofy - adding team members and their profiles, reviewing and approving/declining their requests, placing orders for approved equipment, creating and customising teams, as well as using our HR integration to import users.
Note: If a Hofy manager doesn't have access to PII, they can still perform these tasks without being able to see team member details.
Manage controls for Requests:
- Approving or declining equipment requests
- Editing team member addresses (available with PII permission only)
Manage controls for Orders:
- Adding a new address (available with PII permission only)
- Changing style of an item (such as a keyboard variant)
- Adding approved equipment to the basket
- Placing orders
- Removing equipment from the basket
Manage controls on Team Members:
- Adding team member details (available with PII permissions only)
- Onboarding and offboarding team members
Manage controls for HR integration:
- Syncing HR software with Hofy platform
- Setting import rules (if on Hofy Pro or Enterprise)
- Importing team member to Hofy
Manage controls for Teams:
- Creating new teams
- Deleting teams
- Editing team names and colors
Manage controls for Assets:
- Adding and editing assets
- Importing assets in bulk using the bulk upload wizard
- Requesting to Clear, Reassign, Store or Archive customer-owned assets
Manage controls for Settings:
- Enabling auto invite team members setting in 'Settings > General'
[ACCORDION] PII
With PII enabled, a Hofy manager can view team members’ personal information on the platform. This includes personal email address, home address, phone number and where applicable, an ID number.
[ACCORDION] Read only
Hofy managers with only the 'Read only' permission can review the Hofy platform and the latest updates, however cannot action any changes, onboard or offboard team members or create orders.
