Important note - in person equipment transfers
If you instruct Hofy to transfer equipment, please note that the name and address of the sender and receiver will be visible on the equipment packaging and It is your responsibility to make sure that the sender and receiver are aware of this, and have consented. We will ask you to confirm that you have this consent while you are requesting a transfer through Hofy. Please see Hofy’s Customer privacy statement for more information.
[ACCORDION] Why transfer assets using Hofy and how it works
Transferring your owned or rented equipment from one team member to another though Hofy is a great, cost effective way to repurpose assets throughout their lifecycle.
- Once requested, users will be sent an automated collection survey to fill and arrange the collection with them and we have a seamless process in place to chase users for a response if the survey is not completed in time.
- We'll pick up the equipment and ship it directly to its next user.
- Point-to-point transfers are entirely dependent on team member responsiveness and collection availability, so this may not be a suitable option with a limited timeline. We can only provide a delivery ETA once the collection has been arranged and is subject to change if the collection is unsuccessful.
- If you are subscribed to our pre-configuration service, we are unable to support re-configuring during a device transfer and all data on the device is still a responsibility of your organisation (A guide to Device Pre-Configuration).
- If wiping a device and pre-configuring it is a crucial step to your organisation that you simply cannot skip, we recommend considering Store and Reuse instead where devices are sent to Hofy hubs, checked, cleaned and re-configured if applicable.
[ACCORDION] How to request a transfer in the Hofy platform
When you're logged in as a Hofy manager, you can request a transfer directly in the platform by heading into your Asset Tracker and clicking on 'Reassign' or 'Manage' > 'Manage now'.
Note: If you are on our old terms of service, this will be in your team member's profile in their assigned assets.
- Please note, the team members will need to be in the same customs region; for example, within the EU or the US or within the same country.

Hofy hubs
You can transfer assets within the UK, within the EU (including Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein), or within the US.
Outside of hubs
Outside of our hub countries described above, you can transfer assets within a specific country only (e.g within Brazil, within India, within Canada, within Egypt, etc.).
[ACCORDION] In-person transfers
- For your purchased/own assets - If the transfer has already taken place in person and you need to update Hofy's records to ensure the assignee is up to date, you can reassign the asset yourself in your Asset Tracker > 'Reassign' for your own procured assets.
- For Hofy rented assets, please let Hofy Support know so we can update the platform accordingly and ensure that you are not charged for the transfer between users. Reach out to us through our in-platform help button or please fill this contact form and select Deel IT.

Hofy will take care of facilitating the transfer of your equipment from one team member onto the next. The fee for transfer is charged for each item, one by one. Please note we cannot transfer customer owned furniture.
