Where available, the forecasted (projected) shift allow EOR employees to automatically fill in their timesheet hours based on the worker's assigned schedule.
The forecast feature predicts your shifts based on your assigned schedule and minimizes manual entry. EOR employees can quickly review and adjust shifts as needed, saving time and effort.
The forecasted hours can be discarded entirely or replaced by manual submission before the end of the pay cycle.

How to enable and manage Forecasted Shift
✅ Step 1 - Navigate to the Workspace Icon and Select the Time Tracking tab
✅ Step 2 - Manage the Forecast Settings
When enabled in a country, EOR employees will see the option to auto-fill their timesheet house by clicking the three-dot menu in the Forecast settings.
Employees may then toggle on the option for allowing forecasted hours.
If a schedule is not assigned to you, the system will not autofill any timesheet data.
If you are a full-time EOR worker, forecasted shifts can only be used where available if the country default schedule is applied.
If you've successfully enabled forecasted shifts, the auto-fill will complete empty timesheet days based on past data and your known assigned schedule.
The forecasted shift will run daily, checking empty days and filling in shifts when applicable. If a schedule is assigned, the system fills shifts accordingly.
Once a forecasted shift is generated, you must submit it to your manager for approval, as usual.
Additional notes
- EOR employees can delete any forecasted shift, and it will not reappear.
- If you edit a forecasted shift, the status becomes “Pending Approval.”
- If you manually add hours, then Deel will discard any forecasted shifts that overlap with the hours manually submitted.
- There is no need to discard forecasted shifts that do not overlap with the hours submitted.
Submitting your forecasted shifts
Once a forecasted shift is generated, it must be submitted for approval. Submission behavior depends on the country - depending on the country it can be automatic submission or manual confirmation.
Either way, timesheet approvers will follow the standard approval process for submitted hours. Approvers can only review and approve shifts after submission, whether this be automatic or manual by the worker.
For automatic submission countries:
- Forecasted shifts automatically convert to "Pending Manager Approval" at the cycle’s cut-off date, and no additional action is needed from workers.
For manual confirmation countries :
- Workers must confirm their forecasted shifts before submission.
- An alert will appear on the last day of the pay cycle, reminding workers to confirm shifts. If any forecasted shifts remain unconfirmed, the alert stays visible until all shifts are reviewed.
