This article explains how clients can terminate contractor agreements, either immediately or by setting a future date.
✅ Step 1 – Select contractor
Select the (1) People tab on your home page and select the (2) contractor to wish to terminate
✅ Step 2 – Schedule termination
Click schedule termination.
If the worker has multiple active contractor contracts, select the contract type you wish to terminate.
✅ Step 3 – Select end date
Choose if you want to end the contract on a specified future date, or terminate immediately.
We will inform you if the end date is less than the standard notice period for contract terminations.
You must select a reason for ending the contract from the dropdown menu, and you may include an additional explanation as well. This explanation will not be shared with the worker.
If you want to include an explanatory note that will be shared with your worker, you can write this message in the secondary Additional Details box.
Upload any documentation you want to include in your termination request.

✅ Step 4 – Adjust final payments
You can add, delete, or approve pending payment items for the final contract payment.
You can also approve or add a milestone payment for Milestone contract workers.
✅ Step 5 – Review summary
Review the end of contract date and payment details, and then click Submit to continue.
Note: An email with updates will be shared with the contractor.

Yes. We will inform you if your requested termination date is less than the standard notice period.
It is possible to end the contract before the notice period is over, but you must confirm that you notified your worker about your termination request.

No, we will not share your mandatory reason for ending the contract or the additional explanation you provide.
