Deel Advance allows eligible independent contractors to get short-term cash advances.
Deel Advance eligibility varies from person to person, but there are some basic requirements:
- You are a contractor who is not a US tax resident. Deel Advance is not available for US residents.
- You are KYC-verified
- You have an active Fixed or Pay As You Go contract (if PAYG, it must be a time-based agreement
- All Hourly Report types except Expense are supported
- All Hourly Report types except Expense are supported
- Pay cycle must be less than or equal to 1 month. Example of eligible payment cycles: Weekly, Biweekly, Monthly.
- You must have a positive Deel Balance.
- You must have been in continuous engagement with your client for at least 1 month (30 days), counting from the first payment due date, and not contract creation date.
- This means that at least one invoice was paid for each invoice cycle.
In the last one month of the contract, there shouldn't be any payment cycle gaps.
- This means that at least one invoice was paid for each invoice cycle.
- Overdue invoices make contractors ineligible for Deel Advances because it creates a gap in the invoice cycle.
- If the contract has an end date, it should be after the next payment due date.

Only regular billed "work" will be considered for Deel Advance eligibility.
We will take into consideration the calculated rate when reviewing your Advance eligibility.
If your hours have been reported as Expense on your invoices, these will not count towards Deel Advance eligibility. The same criteria apply to off-cycle invoices or a one-off payment: eligibility is determined only by regular billed work.
Losing Deel Advance Eligibility
You may lose your Deel Advance eligibility, even if you were previously eligible. If this happens, go to the Deel Advance page and click on the criteria list to open the Eligibility criteria modal. This will provide a detailed explanation of the specific requirements and the reasons for the change in your eligibility status.
