Before you begin
To successfully set a goal in Engage, you:
- Must be an Engage admin.
- Must have Engage enabled on the organization.
- Must have Goals turned on under Engage.
Step 1. Set a goal in Engage
1. Go to Engage > Goals.
2. Click Create new goal.
After naming and describing the goal, select the goal type: individual, team, department, or company.
Owners and visibility—whether private or public (admins can always view private goals)—must be added.
The progress metrics can be manual or automatic progress updates. Clients can add cycles, start dates, and create tags for easy filtering.
3. Click Save.
Step 2. Add a sub-goal to a set parent goal
Once a goal is created, child or sub-goals can be added.
1. From the list of goals, use the ellipsis (three dots) by the preferred goal to add a sub-goal.
The details to fill out are the same as for creating a parent goal, and the parent goal will already be attached, but there's an option to detach using the detach button.
Next Steps
After successfully setting goals for an organization or the employees within it, there's now a need to launch a review cycle. Check out our article on How to Launch a Review Cycle on Deel.
