Deel requires Proof of FEIN (or SS-4 Letter) to verify an employer’s Employer Identification Number (EIN). This ensures accurate tax reporting and compliance with federal regulations.

If you already have an EIN, your SS-4 Letter was sent by the IRS when your EIN was assigned. To locate it:
- Check your official IRS correspondence.
- Look through your company’s tax records or filing documents.
How to Request an IRS 147C Confirmation Letter
If you cannot find your SS-4 Letter, you can request an IRS 147C Confirmation Letter by following these steps:

Call the IRS Business & Specialty Tax Line at +1-800-829-4933.

Ask for a 147C EIN Confirmation Letter.

Follow the IRS representative’s instructions to receive the letter via mail or fax.
How to Apply for an EIN
If you do not have an EIN, you will need to apply for one using Form SS-4:

Complete Form SS-4.

Submit the form online, by fax, or by mail via the IRS.

Once processed, the IRS will issue your EIN along with an SS-4 Letter.
How to Update FEIN on Deel Platform
To update the FEIN (Federal Employer Identification Number) on the Deel platform by following these steps:
1. Go to the Organization Settings section.
2. Click on Entity, then select the appropriate entity.
3. Click Edit.
4. Scroll down to the Identification Details section.
5. You will see the field for the Federal Employer Identification Number, where you can enter or update the number.

To ensure your EIN information remains up to date:
