How to Manage an Offboarded Worker’s Equipment (Collection, Storage, Transfer, or Clearance)
Step 1 - Open the worker’s equipment profile
From the Deel homepage, navigate to the People tab. Select the worker you wish to offboard.
Go to the Deel IT section and click Manage Equipment.
Step 2 - Confirm worker details and communication timing
Review and update contact details:
Address – for equipment collection
Personal email – required (in case the work email is deactivated)
Phone number – used for collection survey reminders
Click Edit to make any necessary changes.
Schedule communication:
Choose when Deel can contact the worker (e.g., post-termination notice).
Choose when equipment can be collected (e.g., after final work day).
Deel will send a collection survey to the worker to confirm location, packaging availability, and pickup preferences.
Step 3 - Select Equipment and Define Actions
Review assigned assets:
Devices (e.g., laptops, phones, tablets)
Accessories (e.g., monitors, headsets)
Choose an action for each item

Worker contact and communication details
Collection schedule
Equipment list and selected actions
Total service costs (expandable to see per-device breakdown)
2. Click Confirm to submit the request.

Workers can’t book equipment collections directly in Deel IT. If a worker needs their equipment collected, they must contact their manager or a Deel admin, who can submit the collection request from the Deel platform.
Once the request is submitted, Deel sends the worker a collection survey to confirm their pickup address, packaging availability, and scheduling preferences. The worker should complete the survey as soon as possible so Deel’s Logistics team can arrange the collection.
Please note: collections can typically only be scheduled up to one month in advance. If the worker needs a collection beyond that window, contact Deel IT Support for assistance.

Yes. Offboarding is independent of contract status.
