This article explains how EOR employees can initiate the resignation process on Deel.
Please notify your manager of your intention to resign before you submit the resignation request on the Deel platform.

✅ Step 1 – Request to End Contract
Select the Contract Details tab in your contract, and click Request in the contract end section.
✅ Step 2 – Notify manager
Check the box to confirm that you have notified your manager about your intention to resign.
Notifying your manager before you submit the resignation request will help us avoid delays in processing your termination, especially if you are planning to leave before your notice period ends.
✅ Step 3 – Select desired end date
Please note that after we review and process your resignation request, your official contract end date may differ from your desired end date due to local labor laws and Deel’s terms of service.
Select a primary reason for your resignation from the dropdown menu, and add additional details if needed.
✅ Step 4 – Sign resignation letter
Click Review and Sign to review the resignation letter that has been created for you on Deel.
You can not amend the resignation letter; however, you may add additional supporting documents that are relevant to your resignation request.
✅ Step 5 – Submit resignation
Click Submit resignation to send your resignation letter to your manager and begin the offboarding procedure.
Please note that the resignation is not confirmed once you click submit; your resignation will only be confirmed after we process all required details.
All details of the resignation process are subject to our requirements for payroll, offboarding processing times, and local labor law requirements.

FAQs
[ACCORDION] What if my desired end date is within the contract notice period?
If your desired end date is within the suggested notice period as detailed in your contract, then we require approval from your manager to continue with the offboarding process.
You may need to select a different end date and resubmit your resignation request.
[ACCORDION] What about my unused PTO time?
Your client will be notified to review your resignation documents and take action.
Your client must review and confirm your used days off for each year of your employment.
The number of used PTO days will be subtracted from your annual allowance of PTO days to calculate your final payment.
[ACCORDION] Am I entitled to severance pay?
Your client will have the option to add additional severance pay to your final payment on top of any mandatory severance payment that is required by local law.
While severance pay is not mandatory, your client may choose to add an additional severance amount that is either cash value based or time value based.
- Cash Value: A flat amount of money for a final severance payment, which is in addition to any mandatory statutory severance payment.
- Time Value: Clients can add a time value severance that is measured in days, weeks, or months.

It is not possible to rescind the resignation once the request has been submitted.
It is important to discuss your desire to resign with your manager before you complete the resignation request on the Deel platform.
[ACCORDION] How long do EOR employees have access to their Deel account after submitting their resignation?
EOR employees who have resigned will retain access to their Deel account indefinitely. Deel user accounts are not tied to employment - they remain available even after a worker's contracts, EOR employment relationship, etc have ended. This ensures that users still have access to their work records and important documents (tax information, payslips, invoices, etc).
Its completely free to keep your Deel account, and workers can continue to use it for future contracts and employment opportunities. It is important that employees set their account email to a personal address so that they don't lose access to their account after a contract ends.
