This article is for clients and it explains how they can set up Personio plugins as part of their HRIS integration.

Setup Employee Sync
✅ Step 1 - Connect to Personio
From the Deel home page, select the Hub icon and Apps tab. Search for Personio and click on connect to initiate integration.
Configure syncing employees to Deel from this integration.
✅ Step 1 - Select this plugin and within the details drawer, toggle Enable employee sync to Deel on
✅ Step 2 - A personal email field will be displayed, to start syncing employees clients must select the personal email field configured in their Personio account from the list. If it is not available yet, create it in Personio and then come back to try select again.
Configuring Personal email in Personio
✅ Step 1 - Go to settings and within the Integrations card, go to API credentials and select Deel from the list of connected integrations.
✅ Step 2 - Within the Deel integration details page, on the access rights tab, click on choose attributes.
✅ Step 3 - Search for Personal email and toggle it on. Use the update button to confirm changes.
If done correctly a Deel was successfully updated toast will be displayed and the count of chosen attributes will increase.
Back in your Deel setup, Personal email will now be available to select from the Personal email field list.
People Match Plugin
This plugin allows clients to see which members of your team managed in Deel are linked to corresponding Personio profiles.
Finding matching profiles in Personio is the first step to configuring the integration because Deel syncs data only for matched profiles.
Field Mapping
This plugin enhances client's HR capabilities by syncing HRIS data with Deel. It can be used to tailor how HRIS data syncs with Deel.
Use the Edit field mapping button to map Deel fields with their corresponding Personio values.
Employee Sync Errors
Sync errors will be visible in bulk on the plugin overview page, and can also be viewed under individual employees.

Frequently Asked Questions
[ACCORDION] How can Personio and Deel user profiles be matched?
Matching Deel and Personio users is a critical step for Deel integration because we sync data only for profiles that are matched.
Our integration matches profiles via a check of the user's email address. If the email provided in Deel finds a Personio profile with a corresponding email, then we link those two users.
If any users in Deel cannot be located in Personio, this is usually because their matching profile can't be found in Personio.
To resolve this issue, please ensure that all users in Deel have a corresponding user profile in Personio, and that the profile in Personio uses the same email address stored in Deel.
[ACCORDION] How often will the integration sync?
It will automatically sync data every couple of hours.
[ACCORDION] Does the integration sync balances?
No, the integration does not sync or reconcile balances.
[ACCORDION] Why are there discrepancies in balances between the two systems?
Discrepancies can arise if the total allowance in a HRIS system differs from that in Deel. To resolve this, ensure that HRIS policy is aligned with Deel's. If alignment isn't possible, contact assigned Customer Success Manager (CSM) to discuss adjusting Deel’s contracts to better fit the company's policy where feasible.
[ACCORDION] Why are the total allowances not the same in both systems?
The HRIS system may have PTO policies that differ from those in Deel, potentially leading to variations in accrual logic. As Deel cannot automatically align external systems to our policies, any necessary adjustments must be made manually to ensure consistency.
[ACCORDION] Will there be notifications of integration issues?
Yes, Deel will send out notifications of integration sync issues. Specify an organization manager (or as many emails as needed) email to receive these notifications.
To do this:
✅ Step 1 - Go into the Personio integration and click on the inverted ellipsis (three dots) next to the Sync Integration button.
✅Step 2 - Select Email notifications settings from the list of options.
✅Step 3 - In the Email notifications settings drawer, click on the Add button to add an email notifications list.
