Import and export data with Deel using SFTP

Deel can connect to any SFTP server using the dedicated integration that leverages the SFTP protocol. This integration allows to import data to Deel (inbound) or export it to your system (outbound).

SFTP connections are configured by entity. If you have multiple entities, you need to create an SFTP connection for each entity.

This article explains how to import and export data with Deel using SFTP.

Before you begin

To successfully import and export HRIS data with Deel using SFTP, you'll need:

• The credentials of an SFTP server where data is exported from your HRIS system
• A user with an admin role on Deel
• To whitelist Deel IP addresses to be able to connect

Set up an outbound SFTP connection

To set up an SFTP connection:

1. Go to More > Apps.
2. Search for SFTP integration and open the integration page.
3. Click Create SFTP.
   
4. On the SFTP connection page, at the Integration type step, set the following:
   1. Select Export data from Deel to your tool.
   2. Set the integration type based on one of the available options.
   3. Set a name for the connection.
   4. Select the entity for which the connection will be created, then click Continue.
      
5. At the SFTP connection step, enter the details of the SFTP server, then click Continue.
   
6. At the Notification settings step, add the recipients to which to send notifications for the integration, then click Connect.

The SFTP connection is created and you can now leverage it to export data from Deel.

Set up an inbound SFTP connection

Before setting up an inbound SFTP connection, make sure that the files you want to import are available on the SFTP server.

To set up an SFTP connection:

1. Go to More > Apps.
2. Search for SFTP integration and open the integration page.
3. Click Create SFTP.
   
4. On the SFTP connection page, at the Integration type step, set the following:
   1. Select Import data to Deel.
   2. Set the integration type based on one of the available options.
   3. Set a name for the connection.
   4. Select the entity for which the connection will be created, then click Continue.
      
5. At the SFTP connection step, enter the details of the SFTP server, then click Continue.
   
6. At the Imported file step, confirm that the file is being correctly imported, then click Continue.
7. At the Review step, review your settings, then click Connect.
8. At the Notifications step, add the recipients to which to send notifications for the integration, then click Connect.

The SFT connection is created and you can now leverage it to import data to Deel.

List of supported data

This section lists the data that can be transferred using the SFTP connection.

Inbound connection

The inbound connection allows to import the following data to Deel:

• Time tracking
• Payroll documents
• Employee data

Outbound connection

The outbound connection allows to export the following data from Deel:

• Payment files
• Payslip ZIP files
• General Ledger (GL) files
• Payroll journals
• Other

List of supported SFTP authentication methods

• Password
• SSH private key

Deel IPs

The following is the list of public IPs from which Deel will be connecting to your SFTP server. Make sure to allow connections from these IP addresses.
