Each U.S. state has its own requirements for tax registration and reporting. Clients with employees in client-reporting states must ensure they have their state registrations in place to remain compliant.
This article guides clients on how they can request the state registration for Client reporting states and track the registration status.

How to Request State Registration for Client Reporting States
✅ Step 1 - Navigate to the US Registrations
In the top navigation bar, click on More icon and select Services. Select US Registration.
✅ Step 2 - Click on New Registration
In the US Registration page, click on the New Registration button. You will now be directed to the registration portal.
Toggle the “This request is for a PEO entity” button and select the states where you need registration.
Choose your entity type and click on submit.
Note: For Colorado, clients will also have the option to select the 5 local registrations for that state if they are needed.
✅ Step 3 - Fill in the Required Information
Once you click Submit, you will be redirected to the information intake form.
Complete the form with business and state-specific information required for the selected state(s).
You can access the form from the US Registrations dashboard if you prefer to complete it later. Any information provided once will be automatically carried over to other forms.
After submitting the information, you can now track the status of your request.
How to View the Status of State Registration
State-Specific Exceptions: Registrations for Rhode Island and Nevada
Rhode Island and Nevada state agencies have started flagging repeated mailing addresses as fraudulent. As a result :

Account IDs for Rhode Island and Nevada registrations will be sent directly to your mailing address.

Since the physical mail from Rhode Island and Nevada will now go directly to clients, there will be no virtual mail for Deel to receive these details on the client's behalf. Please note this does not impact email.

Registration information such as Account Number, SUI Rate, and Effective Year will not automatically appear in the Deel platform after registration.

Once registration is complete, Middesk (Our Partner) will email you a form to collect these details.

If this form is not completed, Deel may be unable to surface your account information.
