What is the MDM Trial?
The MDM trial is your opportunity to explore the full potential of Deel's IT Mobile Device Management without immediate commitment, helping you decide if our solution is right for your organization. For 30 days, you will have access to all the functionalities available on the product.
During this evaluation, you will get:
- Instant Visibility: See exactly how MDM integrates into your daily Deel dashboard.
- Sandbox Access: We provide a dedicated trial account on a Deel-managed tenant (via JumpCloud) so you can safely test capabilities.
- Device management Add your devices via the JumpCloud platform and from there, manage everything from the Deel platform.
- Policy management: Enforce policies across your fleet, from security bundles to OS patch management.
- Trigger device actions: Perform device locks, wipes, restarts and more with a couple of clicks
- Automate tasks: Safely provision or deprovision device accesses with HR lifecycle events, and pair them with other actions.
How the MDM Trial Works
The trial is designed as a self-guided evaluation period. It allows you to get hands-on with the interface and understand the logic of managing global devices through Deel.
Key Rules:
- Duration: You have a full 30 days to explore the platform.
- Self-Driven Setup: This is an evaluation environment; while we provide the tools and guides, Deel does not provide manual configuration assistance during the trial phase.
- Manual Activation: Once you request a trial, our team manually provisions your secure environment, typically within one business day.
- Access Rights: During the trial, you can access the MDM tab without needing a paid "Deel IT" contract, right from the Deel platform, within “Equipment”.
Packages and pricing
- Trial Cost: $0 (Free).
- Commitment: There is no obligation to purchase. You do not need to buy a JumpCloud SKU to start the trial.

Step-by-step Setup
Prerequisites
- You must be a Deel Admin with the relevant permissions.
- Your organization must have Deel IT enabled (free tier or paid).
- No active MDM trial should be ongoing.
Step 1 - Start your journey
Look for the Try now option on the MDM Landing tab, Services tab, or within the Automations tab.
You will be asked to share a few details to customize your experience.
- Confirm your details and whether you have a JumpCloud account.
- Your expected number of devices.
- Your team's experience level with MDM.
- Admin contact details for the setup invite.
Step 2 - Activation and Connection
- Sit tight: A Deel admin will set up your trial account within one business day.
- Check your inbox: If you don't have a JumcCloud account, you will receive an email invite to create one.
- Connect: Navigate to the MDM tab on Deel, follow the instructions to get your API key from JumpCloud, and connect it to your dashboard. You can find more information on how to connect JumpCloud to your Deel instance in this article.
Step 3 - Accessing MDM
- From the Deel platform, go to the Equipment tab
- Click the tab Mobile Device Management
- You will land on the Overview page of MDM, ready to explore the full product.
Step 4: Adding devices
Devices are added directly within the MDM Admin Portal (JumpCloud). To add a new device, please follow these steps:
- Log in to the JumpCloud Admin Portal.
- Navigate to Device Management > Devices in the left-hand menu.
- Select the Devices tab.
- Click the plus icon (+).
- Add your Devices, following the instructions in the platform.
- After adding the devices, these will be synced with the Deel platform.

Usage and Tracking
- Clear Timelines: Your trial end date is displayed directly on the platform, so you always know how much evaluation time is left.
- Getting Started: A dedicated "Get Started" UI will guide you through essential steps, such as setting up Apple Push Notifications (APN) and enrolling your first device.
Renewal or Cancellation
- Automatic Expiry: The trial automatically concludes after 30 days.
- Seamless Upgrade: Ready to commit? You can easily reach out to Sales directly from the trial interface to switch to a permanent plan.
- Extensions: Need more time? We can manually extend trial dates if you need a longer evaluation period.
Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. You can use your own JumpCloud API key to connect an existing account.

Once the 30-day window closes, the trial expires, and you will see a notification that the contract has ended. You will no longer be able to manage devices via the trial tab unless you upgrade. Someone from our team will reach out to you, or you can reach out to us any time if you have questions or wish to upgrade the plan.
[ACCORDION] Will the Deel team connect the JumpCloud instance to the platform on my behalf?
Not for the trial version. You will find the instructions on how to do so in the platform and the email we sent you, or by following the steps outlined in our JumpCloud Integration guide.

No. If you decide to upgrade, we can extend your existing contract or create a new one to restore access to your account.

Currently, the trial experience is exclusive to our JumpCloud integration.

We completely wipe your data from JumpCloud and Deel IT upon request.
