How to set up the Deel Local Payroll integration

The Deel Local Payroll integration is designed for users who use Deel HR as their primary HRIS and continue to run local payroll within Deel Local Payroll, powered by Payspace.

With the Integration you can:

Create workers, update information, and push completed payslips from Deel Local Payroll into Deel for employee access.

Step 1: Connect the Integration

1. Navigate to your Deel account dashboard.
2. Click More, then Apps on the top menu.
3. Search for Deel Local Payroll.
4. Click Connect Deel Local Payroll.
5. Enter your Deel Local Payroll API credentials, including:
   • Authentication URL 
   • API URL
   • Client ID
   • Client Secret
6. Click Connect & go to settings.

Step 2: Map paygroups to entities

To ensure data flows to the right place, you must link your Deel Local Payroll groups to your Deel Legal Entities.

1. In the integration dashboard, go to the User provisioning and sync settings section of the Plugins and settings tab.
2. Click Enable, then Add paygroup.
3. Select your Deel Local Payroll Paygroup from the dropdown, then select the corresponding Deel Legal Entity.
4. Repeat for all entities you wish to sync.

Paygroups can be updated or removed after creation

Step 3: Syncing employee data

Once your integration is set up, updating an existing worker in Deel will update the information on both platforms automatically. 

For new workers, creation in Deel Local Payroll only occurs if they meet these criteria:

• Person Status in Deel: Onboarded or Active
• Uses Deel for HRIS, not payroll - When adding people to Deel, select Direct Employee.
• Worker has a Work Email populated, as Deel Local Payroll requires this for record creation.

Step 4: Accessing payslips

Once payroll is finalized in Deel Local Payroll, admins can trigger a manual refresh at any time using the Sync Payslips button in the integration settings.

Employees can then view their payslips directly in their Deel profile.
