If your worker data isn't appearing in Deel Local Payroll as expected, the integration is likely encountering a validation error.

Monitoring sync health
The integration runs constantly in the background. To check for errors:
- Navigate to the App Store in Deel and open the Deel Local Payroll integration.
- Go to the Event Logs tab.
- Review the Person Status column for any Failures. Each failure will include a specific error message (e.g., "Mandatory field missing").
Common issues and solutions
Worker not provisioning in Deel Local Payroll
- Cause: The worker has not reached the correct Person Status in Deel.
- Solution: A worker will only sync to Deel Local Payroll once they reach Onboarded or Active Person Status. Draft or Onboarding hires will not be pushed to payroll.
Mandatory fields are failing
- Cause: Deel Local Payroll requires certain fields that are optional in Deel.
-
Solution: Ensure the following fields are populated in the employee's Deel profile:
- Work Email: This is the primary identifier. If blank, the sync will fail.
- Date of Birth: Essential for identity validation.
Unexpected titles, genders
- Issue: Workers appear in Deel Local Payroll as "Mr." or "Male" even though you didn't set this in Deel.
-
Reason: Due to international legal constraints, Deel cannot always make Gender or Title mandatory. To prevent the sync from failing entirely, the integration uses the following defaults:
- Title: Defaults to Mr.
- Gender: Defaults to Male.
- Correction: If these defaults are incorrect, you can manually update them in the worker's Deel profile, and a new sync will trigger.
Incorrect Work Schedule
- Issue: Workers’ work schedule might not match their real schedule.
- Reason: To prevent sync failures when optional Deel fields are empty, the system uses the fail-safe defaults of Monday to Friday for the work schedule.
- Correction: If this default is incorrect, you can manually update them in the worker's Deel profile, and a new sync will trigger.
Data changes in Deel Local Payroll are not reflecting in Deel
- Cause: The integration is one-way.
- Solution: HR data only flows from Deel > Deel Local Payroll. If you update an employee's address or title directly in Deel Local Payroll, Deel will not be updated. Always make HR changes in Deel to ensure both systems stay in sync.
