This guide covers how to safely disconnect either the Lucca API or Lucca SFTP integration from Deel. The disconnection process in Deel is the same for both — the only difference is the cleanup required on the Lucca side afterward.
Before You Begin
Keep the following in mind before disconnecting:
- Data sync stops immediately. All active syncs (People Data Sync, OTP, PTO) will cease.
- Historical data is preserved. Data already synced to Deel remains, but will no longer receive updates from Lucca.
- Reconnection requires reconfiguration. If you reconnect later, you may need to re-map fields and settings from scratch.
Step 1: Disable Active Plugins (Recommended)
To avoid partial data errors, disable active plugins before disconnecting.
- Navigate to Integrations > Lucca or Lucca API, depending on your integration.
- Go to the Plugins tab.
- Toggle OFF all active plugins (e.g., Global Payroll – People Data Sync, One Time Payment, Time Off).
Step 2: Disconnect the Integration
- In the Lucca integration dashboard in Deel, click the More Options (⋯) menu in the top right corner.
- Select Disconnect.
- When prompted, confirm the action.
- Click Confirm.
Step 3: Post-Disconnection Cleanup in Lucca
Once disconnected from Deel, clean up access on the Lucca side, depending on which integration you were using.
If you were using the Lucca API integration:
- Log in to your Lucca admin dashboard.
- Go to Settings, then API Keys under the Security section.
- Locate the API key used for the Deel connection.
- Select Revoke Access or Delete Key.
If you were using the Lucca SFTP integration:
- Log in to your Lucca admin dashboard.
- Navigate to each export configuration used for the Deel sync (in Core HR, Pagga Compensation, and Timmi Absences as applicable).
- Go to the Automated Exports tab for each export and set it to Disabled.
- Optionally, remove the Deel-specific FTP endpoint from your FTP configuration.
