Connecting Deel Plugins

Deel Plugins help organizations strengthen company culture and enhance team collaboration with purpose-built tools for distributed teams. By connecting third-party apps like Slack, you can extend Deel’s functionality and embed the connection into everyday workflows.

Before you begin

To successfully connect Deel Plugins, you need to have admin permissions on Deel.

Subscribe to Deel Plugins

1. From your Deel homepage, go to More > Deel Plugins.

2. On the Subscription required card, click Subscribe.
3. In the subscription modal, you’ll see:
   
   • Number of users - The total number of active users from your People list. (You can edit this number.)
     
   • Estimated monthly cost - Automatically calculated as Number of users × $5 per month.

4. (Optional) Click the Plugins dropdown to view available apps.
5. Click Subscribe, then confirm the subscription.

Subscribing gives you access to both the Deel for Slack and Slack (standalone) plugins. The subscription activates immediately, but no payment is processed until usage begins.

Connect the Deel App for Slack

1. Click Connect now on the Deel for Slack card.

2. On the redirected Slack integration page, click Connect.

3. (Optional) You can also go to More > Apps and search for Slack.
4. Click Allow on the Slack permissions page.
5. Back on the Deel for Slack tab in Plugins, you’ll now see Open in Slack and Settings buttons.

You’ll also see Time Off and Approvals plugins available for installation.

On Slack, a confirmation message will appear from the Deel App bot. If you receive a “not authorized to use Deel in Slack” message, follow the steps in the next section.

Match unmatched Slack accounts

1. Return to Deel and click Settings on the Deel for Slack app.
2. Click Match accounts in the Mismatched Slack accounts banner.

3. On the Unmatched Accounts tab, select a Slack account and click Match.

If the email in your People profile matches your Slack email, the accounts will be matched automatically. If they differ, you’ll need to match them manually.

Activate Deel Plugins

After connecting the integration, your Slack integration > Plugins page may still show workers with access as zero. To fix this:

1. Click Workers with access.
2. On the User management page, go to the Workers without access tab.
3. Select specific workers and click Add selected.

(Optional) Click Add all to enable access for all listed workers.

4. In Slack, click Refresh in the Deel bot.

The unauthorized access message should now disappear.
