The Deel Slack Plugin makes it simple to track your time without switching between apps. Instead of logging in to Deel each time, you can view your timesheet, add shifts, and keep track of your workdays directly inside Slack. This helps reduce missed submissions, avoids last-minute scrambles, and ensures your payroll is always accurate.
This article explains how to get started with time tracking in Slack, from viewing your timesheet to submitting and deleting shifts.

Before you begin
Here are the things you need to know to successfully follow this guide:
You must have the Deel Slack Plugin installed and connected to your Deel account. See Connecting Deel Plugins.
The plugin is currently only available in English.
We recommend checking the Supported contract types section to understand whether your contract is eligible before starting to follow this guide.
Step 1. View your timesheet in Slack
You can check your current cycle and see what’s missing right from Slack.
To view your timesheet in Slack:
Open the Deel app in Slack.
From the Home tab, you’ll see your current timesheet cycle.
Each row shows the date, type of day (working, rest, public holiday, or time off), and the status (pending, approved, rejected).
3. To check a different cycle, select another one from the dropdown menu.
Slack remembers your last selection, so reopening will display that cycle automatically.
4. Use the History tab to review past cycles (depending on your contract type).
Now that you can see your timesheet, the next step is submitting shifts.
Step 2. Submit a shift
You can add regular single shifts with start, end, and break times.
To submit a shift in Slack:
Go to the Home tab of the Deel app in Slack.
Look for an Add Shift button next to a day that’s missing a submission.
-
Enter the following details in the submission modal:
Start time and End time
Breaks (optional)
Description (optional)
Review the information and select Submit.
Once submitted, your timesheet updates automatically, and your shift will appear with the correct status.
Step 3. Delete a shift
If you need to remove a shift you’ve submitted, you can do so in just a few clicks.
To delete a shift in Slack:
Open the Home tab in Slack and find the shift you’d like to remove.
Select Delete from the Actions column.
Confirm deletion, and the entry will be removed from your timesheet.
Supported contract types
Time Tracking in Slack is available for the following contract types where time tracking exists:
