Clients can request immigration support during the contract creation for all worker types when the employee's nationality and hiring country do not match.
How It Works
When creating a contract and adding the worker's personal details, clients will be asked to add the employment location. If the worker’s nationality and country of employment are different, clients will be asked if they are authorized to work in that country.
If the Worker Has a Work Permit
When selecting the option Yes, they have a work permit, clients can request an immigration check, where the worker will be asked to upload a copy of that right to work and Deel will check and verify that document.
The document will then be stored and we’ll send reminders to the worker and the organization when the same is due to expire.
To opt into the service, tick the Immigration Document Review option.
This service is optional and won't block the onboarding process.
For organizations where Deel is the hiring entity (i.e., COR Contractor, EOR), the Immigration Document Review option will be automatically selected, as it is a mandatory step that will be conducted.
If the Worker Doesn’t Have a Work Permit and Will Require Visa Sponsorship
When selecting the option No, they require visa sponsorship, clients can request a free visa eligibility check. Deel will determine whether the worker is eligible to apply for a visa in the hiring country. Once this check is complete, clients will receive a breakdown of costs and timelines before the visa application process can begin.
To opt into the service, tick the Visa Eligibility Assessment option.
For EOR and COR workers, the onboarding will be blocked until the visa eligibility check is completed.
Contract Creation Immigration Settings
Clients can disable immigration services during the contract creation if it is an optional service (not applicable to EOR or COR).
Go to Organization Settings and select View for the Immigration card. From there, clients can toggle the Show immigration option on or off. This can be done globally or by worker type.
Clients can also set immigration services as mandatory when the worker’s nationality does not match the hiring country or work location. This option can be toggled by worker type or applied universally. When enabled, an immigration case will be automatically created.
