How it works and our coverage
You can request a storage collection directly in the Deel platform for devices only (laptops, mobile devices, and tablets) when managing an offboarded worker’s equipment or via the quick action buttons on the asset tracker.
The purpose of the service is to allow you to make the most of your rental contracts. If you don’t currently have a new worker onboarding, Deel can store devices for you until you’re ready to reassign them.
Pricing and options:
The fees are dependent on whichever Store and Reuse option you select:
Zone 1: Collect to store UK/Europe/US and reuse anywhere within UK/Europe/US:
- Collect devices to store for reuse anywhere within the UK, Europe (EEA/EFTA) or the US using Zone 1/Teleport* storage for $300 (one off fee)
- Example: Store device in our UK warehouse, reuse it within the UK, Europe (EEA/EFTA) or the US
Local: Collect to store in the same country/region and reuse in same country/region
- Collect devices to store and reuse within the same country or customs region using Local storage for $200
- Example: Store your device with Deel in Canada, reuse in Canada
- Example: Store device in EU warehouse, reuse within the Europe (EEA/EFTA)

On your Deel dashboard, you'll see which country/region you'll be storing the device in.
[ACCORDION] Reassigning contracts
Contracts can be reassigned 10 days after collection or once the device arrives at a Deel warehouse (whichever is sooner).

To reassign:
Go to the Stored tab in the asset tracker.
Search for the device.
Click Reassign contract and select the new user.
Rental fees remain the same (including if your rental price has a country multiplier).

When Deel collects and stores a rental device, we:
Appraise the device.
Ensure chargers/cables are included.
Clean and restore the device.
Repair or replace parts as needed (extra fee applies).
Digitally wipe the device.
Repackage it.

Store and reuse for purchased and customer-owned devices
[ACCORDION] How it works and our coverage
To store and reuse devices from other suppliers, you’ll first need to upload them to the Deel Asset Tracker. Unlike rentals (where we store your contracts), this service involves physically storing your devices in Deel warehouses.
Two options are available:

Local storage ($200 one-off fee + $20/month after 3 months)
Store and reuse within the same country or customs region.

Ship to hub ($350 one-off fee + $20/month after 3 months)
Ship to a Deel hub warehouse (UK, EU, US).
Device can then be reused from that hub.
Customs fees are included in the service cost.
You’ll be prompted to provide the original purchase price of the device during the return-to-storage workflow so we can calculate customs.

[ACCORDION] Requesting a Store and Reuse collection or reassignment
To request a store and reuse collection or reassignment:
Go to your Assets page and select the device asset.
Click Store.
The device will be ready to reuse once it arrives at a warehouse and has been inspected and graded.
[ACCORDION] What's included with the service?
Your service fee covers:
Device collection, including customs fees.
Cleaning and repackaging.
Appraisal and condition grading.
Repairs/replacements if needed (extra fee).
Final digital wipe.
Secure storage (monthly fee applies).
Optional re-configuration (extra fee).
Shipping to the next end-user.

If chargers/adapters are missing, Deel won’t supply replacements.

Customers must wipe devices before collection — Deel is not liable for data left on devices.
[ACCORDION] Bring your own device (commonly referred to as BYOD)
Customers who are keen to use Deel IT services, but not necessarily procure all devices from Deel, may consider this scheme for bulk orders.
The service enables you to send us your devices and then dispatch them from the same warehouse to team members, using Deel services you already know and love, within the Deel platform.
To initiate the process, please reach out to your dedicated Account Owner to discuss your needs.
Confirm the shipping details, then the Deel IT team will track it from there.
Once the shipment is received at the warehouse, the team will check in each device, attach item codes and serial numbers.
Once each device is checked into the warehouse, they will show in your Asset Tracker.
Deel IT organisation managers can assign a device to a team member and Deel will manage the rest for you, allowing you a pain free onboarding experience.
Costs
- Activation Fee: Global Fee of $100 per device, this will be invoiced on check-in of the device. This fee includes the check-in, first month of storage, and delivery to the end user.
- Storage Fee: Global Fee of $20 per month per device, first month is included in activation fee, so this is for month 2 and after.
Availability
BYOD is available in Deel hubs (UK, EU, USA) and outside of those, a number of integrated trusted local partners in India, Brazil, Philippines, Canada, Mexico & Australia.
BYOD is ONLY for new devices. Used devices must be stored under Store and Reuse
Devices only (note: may not be suitable for desktops)
For bulk orders of new (not used) devices.
Send devices to Deel hubs (UK, EU, US) or approved local partners (India, Brazil, Philippines, Canada, Mexico, Australia).
Once checked in, devices appear in your Asset Tracker for assignment.
[ACCORDION] Can I add my own storage location to the Asset Tracker?
Yes. The Asset Tracker can also show devices stored in your own company locations.
Update in Org settings > Storage location.
Locations will update from “with user” to “in storage.”
You can choose to store an asset in your storage own location during the create asset flow.
