The Deel Talent makes it easier for clients to hire new workers by connecting them with talent partners. It allows clients to share hiring needs, create specific job requests, and collaborate with talent partners to find suitable candidates.
This article provides a complete overview of the hiring process for both clients and talent partners. Clients can use this feature to hire any type of worker.
For more information on the service, please see our Overview: Deel Talent - for Clients and Overview: Deel Talent - for Talent Partners articles.
How to Hire Using Deel Talent
Each step of the hiring process is assigned to either the client or the talent partner. See below for a breakdown of responsibilities.
✅ Step 1 - Creating a Job Request
Owner: Client
From the Deel Talent tab, select the option Create Job Request.
Clients will be asked to provide the following information:
- Main details: Job title, job type and role, industry, location, and job description. Clients can use Deel AI to help generate the job description.
During the job request creation flow, if clients are unsure where to hire, they can use Deel’s Global Hiring Insights to discover the best countries to hire from based on their criteria.
- Contract details: Number of open positions, worker type (contractor or employee), start date, and optional end date (if applicable).
- Compensation: Currency, compensation type (hourly, daily, monthly, etc.), and the minimum and maximum compensation that can be offered for the position.
- Optional job details: Minimum experience required, whether the role is full-time or part-time, and whether it is remote or on-site.
- Hiring settings: Select the approval policy and specify which team members will receive tasks and notifications for candidates at the Offer or Hire stages.
✅ Step 2 - Send the Job Request
Owner: Client
After creating the job request, clients will be matched with vetted talent partners who meet their hiring criteria.
Once the matching is complete, clients need to send the job request to the talent partners. By clicking Send, they will be prompted to select the partners.
Clients can choose up to two talent partners, and will be asked to provide:
- Fees and Settings - Set a candidate submission limit for the talent partners and define a fee policy
- Work Orders - Work Orders - Agree to and sign work orders for the selected talent partners, if applicable to your organization
Once a job request is created, it will appear in the Job Requests tab, where it can be edited, duplicated, paused, or closed.
✅ Step 3 - Submitting Candidates
Owner: Talent partner
Once a job request is submitted, the talent partner must review it and either accept or reject it.
After accepting, they can begin submitting candidates for the position. Before a candidate can be submitted, their profile must first be created.
Talent partners can create a candidate profile from any tab in their dashboard or directly via the job request by selecting Create a Candidate Profile and filling out the required information.
To submit a candidate, select one from the available options in the dropdown. The same candidate can be added to multiple positions. Any existing information from the candidate's profile will be auto-populated, and additional optional details, such as a LinkedIn profile or files, can be added
✅ Step 4 - Reviewing the Candidate
Owner: Client (as per approval policies)
Once candidates are submitted by the talent partner, the members specified in the client’s approval policies will receive an email notification to reject or approve the candidate. Please note that if email digests are enabled, notifications will be sent only once daily. However, the option to review the candidate will be available immediately after submission by the talent partner.
Candidates can be reviewed via the For You Today card or through the Pending Tasks widget in the Overview tab.
Interviews can be scheduled by approvers outside the platform by contacting the talent partner or candidate directly via email. Afterward, approvers can either approve or reject the candidate
✅ Step 5 - Send Offer
Owner: Client (Org Admins)
Once the candidate is approved, they will move to the offer stage. Clients can click Send Offer to send it to the candidate. Most of the information will be pre-filled, but it’s important to double-check the rate. At this stage, the talent partner fee can also be specified.
After the offer is sent, it will be routed through the talent partner.
✅ Step 6 - Review Offer
Owner: Talent Partner
After the client sends the offer, the talent partner can review the details and either accept or reject it.
✅ Step 7 - Create Contract
Owner: Client
After the offer is reviewed and accepted by the talent partner, the candidate’s status will be marked as Ready to Hire.
From the Candidates tab, clients can click Hire to mark the candidate as hired. They will then be directed to the Add People flow, and the worker profile created from it will be linked to this candidate.
Once the request is closed, clients can dismiss multiple non-selected candidates at once by selecting their names via the Candidates tab and clicking Dismiss Candidates.
