Connect your organization's Google Workspace to ATS so hiring members can send and receive candidate emails in ATS through their own Gmail accounts. You allow Deel's service account to access Gmail in your domain through domain-wide delegation, and then choose whose emails ATS syncs. You don't need a Google Cloud project or a key file.
To schedule interviews on Google Calendar, see Connecting Google Workspace to ATS for interview scheduling. That's a separate setup.

Before you begin
In Google
- Your organization uses Google Workspace with Gmail.
- You can sign in to the Google Admin console as a super admin. Only super admins can authorize domain-wide delegation.
In Deel
- You're allowed to manage ATS settings.
- Your own Work email in your People profile is on your organization's email domain and belongs to an active Google Workspace account with Gmail turned on. ATS uses it to check the connection.
- Every hiring member whose emails you want to sync has their company email in the Work email field of their People profile.
Step 1. Authorize domain-wide delegation in the Google Admin console
- Sign in to the Google Admin console with your super admin account.
- Go to Security > Access and data control > API controls. If you don't see Security, open the menu first.
- Under Domain-wide delegation, click Manage Domain Wide Delegation.
- Click Add new.
- Enter the following:
-
Client ID:
107634221888396748408(Deel's service account) -
OAuth scopes:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonlyandhttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send
-
Client ID:
- Click Authorize.
Enter each scope in its own OAuth scopes field, or both in one field separated by a comma. These scopes let ATS read the Gmail messages of the hiring members you select, so it can sync candidate conversations, and send emails on their behalf.
Google can take some time to apply the change. If ATS says the service account isn't authorized when you connect, wait a few minutes and try again.
Step 2. Connect Google Workspace in ATS
- In the Deel sidebar, select Recruitment, then ATS.
- Select Settings in the top navigation.
- Under Integrations, select Email management.
- Check the Email domain field at the top of the page. If it shows No email, click the edit icon, enter your organization's email domain (for example, company.com), and click Submit.
- Next to Google Workspace, click Connect.
- In the dialog, click Connect.
ATS checks that it can reach your own Gmail mailbox through the access you authorized in Step 1. You won't see a Google sign-in or consent screen.
Step 3. Choose whose emails to sync
- When the connection succeeds, click Continue.
- Select the hiring members whose emails ATS should sync. You can search, or use Select all.
- Click Add.
ATS syncs candidate emails only for the hiring members you select. If someone can't be selected, the list shows why, for example a missing work email.
To change the selection later, go to Settings > Email management and click Edit member email sync next to Google Workspace.
Disconnecting Google Workspace
- In ATS, go to Settings > Email management.
- Next to Google Workspace, click Disconnect and confirm.
New emails are no longer synced to ATS. Emails that were already synced stay in ATS.
To revoke access in Google too, delete Deel's client ID under Manage Domain Wide Delegation in the Google Admin console.
