Supported worker types
The Google Workspace integration supports the following workers:
- Independent contractor (IC)
- Employer of record (EOR)
- Global payroll (GP)
- Professional employer organization (PEO)
- Direct employees
- Persons Without a Contract (PWACs)
The sync direction varies depending on your Deel setup. See User provisioning below for details on which direction applies to your workers.
Supported features
- User password management - You can generate either custom or random passwords for new users. It is also possible to set a requirement for password renewal after the first login.
- Provisioning policy - Use the provisioning policy to define when a new user will gain access to the platform.

User provisioning
The Google Workspace integration supports two provisioning directions, depending on how your organization uses Deel.
- Outbound provisioning (Deel to Google Workspace) - This is the standard flow for HRIS and EOR customers. Deel is the source of truth: when a worker is added or updated in Deel, those changes sync to Google Workspace automatically. This covers IC, EOR, GP, PEO, and direct employee contract types.
- Inbound sync (Google Workspace to Deel) - Deel IT customers use this flow. Google Workspace acts as the source of truth for identity, and worker data syncs into Deel from there. This is the applicable direction for PWACs.

FAQs
How often does the integration sync?
The integration syncs continuously. A daily sync is also performed at
midnight.
Does Deel automatically invite my employees to Google Workspace?
Yes, but only if you have the
User Provisioning plugin
enabled. Once enabled, you can set a Provisioning Lead Time (e.g.,
3 days before their start date). Deel will create the account and send
the login instructions to the employee's personal email, ensuring they
can log in on their first day without manual intervention.
What happens if I change an employee's work email address in Deel?
The work email acts as the unique identifier for the sync. If you change
the email address in Deel, the integration may lose the link to the existing
Google account and attempt to create a new one. It is best practice to
perform email renames directly in the Google Admin Console first, then
update Deel to match.
