In your case details, you'll see a timeline that shows:

This timeline is updated regularly, so check back often to see the latest progress.
Understanding Your Case Status
Your visa application progresses through different stages. Here's what to expect:
[ACCORDION] Initial Review & Case Kick-off
This is the starting point for all immigration cases. Before contacting you, the Deel Mobility team reviews your case details and confirms everything is ready to proceed.
You may see one of the following statuses at this stage:
- Review Applicant Data & Case Kick-Off: No action is required from you at this time. Hang tight - the Deel Mobility team will review your case details soon, and move your case to the next stage when ready.
Once they've reviewed your case, you should receive a welcome email with next steps and key contacts.
[ACCORDION] Document Collection & Review
Your Deel Immigration Specialist should have informed you of the list of documents required for the applicable visa/permit application or process. Please submit these via the Deel platform.
If you are a direct employee obtaining support for a client-sponsored application, your direct employer may be contacted at this stage to provide the required employer documents where applicable.
If required, Deel will also reach out to you to coordinate any document translations, notarizations or legalizations at this stage, and complete any required recruitment or labor marketing testing.
[ACCORDION] Application Preparation
Deel is preparing the application for submission. If required, we may reach out to you, or the Client or your Direct Employer for a signature.
You may see one of the following statuses at this stage:
- Application Drafting: This is done by Deel; we're in the midst of drafting the work or residence permit application. Deel/our local vendor will contact you if we have any questions or require any clarifications.
- Application Review: The application has been drafted. Deel is now reviewing the application details for accuracy. Deel/our local vendor will contact you if we have any questions or require any clarifications.
- Application Signing: The authorities require the Client and/or your signature on the application form. Deel will notify or contact you for this signature.
[ACCORDION] Application Submission / Shipped
During this stage, Deel submits the application to the relevant authorities and will support with any additional documents if requested by the authorities.
You may see one of the following statuses at this stage:
- Application Filed: Deel has submitted the application. No action needed from you.
- Additional Documents: The authorities have requested additional documentation. Deel/our local vendor will contact you to advise and support submission of these additional documents.
- Local Registration: You are required to register with the local officials as part of the process. Deel/our local vendor will contact you to advise and provide more details.
If Deel does not contact you for additional documents or local registration, it means that your application is still under processing by the authorities. Please be patient. In the meantime, you may login to Deel at any time to check on the latest progress.
Please remember: Immigration processes are regulated by governments, not by Deel. While we strive to manage your application and keep you informed as best as possible, we are unfortunately not able to control government approval timelines or decisions.
Once your application has been approved or rejected by the authorities, we will notify you as soon as possible.
Timeline Expectations
Once an application is submitted, processing times are subject to the government or relevant authority. This may vary significantly by country and visa type. You should see an estimated timeline once your case moves into the application submission stage. Keep in mind:
- These are estimates based on current government processing speeds
- Government processing can be unpredictable and subject to backlogs
- We'll update you if timelines change

Important Things to Know
Visa approval is not guaranteed. Even if Deel determines you're eligible and submits your application, the final decision is made by the immigration authorities. We're working toward approval, but we can't predict the outcome.
Do not resign from your current job until you receive formal confirmation of visa approval from the immigration authorities. Many countries require you to maintain your current employment status during the visa application process.
Timely responses are important. If we ask for information or documents, please provide them as quickly as possible. Delays can push back your entire timeline.
Keep your information current. If any of your personal information changes during the application process (address, phone number, email), let your Deel Immigration Specialist (if you are a Deel Employee), or your Direct Employer (if you are a standalone applicant) know immediately.
