Once your visa/permit application has been processed by the relevant government or immigration authority, you will be notified of the outcome.
This article covers the next steps depending on your application outcome.
If Your Visa Is Approved
Once your visa is approved, you'll receive a notification both through the Deel platform and via email. Depending on the country and visa type, the approved visa document may be sent to you. Your employer (for direct employees) or Client (for Deel Employees) will also be notified.
In some countries, additional steps may be required to complete the immigration process. You may see the following case statuses in Deel:
[ACCORDION] Consular Stage (only if applicable)
If you see this status, it means your application has been approved but an additional step is required before you travel or relocate. This involves attending a consular appointment to obtain an entry visa. We’ll support with appointment guidance, any additional document requests, and next steps once a decision is issued.
You may see one of the following statuses at this stage:
- Consular Appointment Scheduled: An appointment at your local consulate or embassy has been scheduled (either by you or by Deel/our local vendor). Please remember to bring along all the required documents (including originals, copies, and any translations, legalizations / notarizations as required). Deel/our local vendor will continue to be in contact to support you throughout this process.
- Consular Appointment Attended: You've attended the appointment; now we await the issuance of your entry visa. The consulate may reach out to you directly once your visa is ready for collection. Please follow the consulate's instructions, and inform Deel/our local vendor when the visa is issued.
- Visa Issued: You've received the entry visa or vignette (usually either stamped on your passport at the consulate or issued digitally; please check with the consulate). This usually means you may now travel to the applicable country - please follow Deel's or our local vendor's instructions for next steps.
- Additional Documents Required: The authorities have requested additional documentation. Deel/our local vendor will contact you to advise and support submission of these additional documents.
[ACCORDION] Residence Permit (only if applicable)
In some countries, you may be required to obtain a separate residence permit. In such cases, Deel will support you during this process by collecting your documents, arranging the necessary appointments, and submitting the application.
You may see one of the following statuses at this stage:
- Document Collection: If additional documents are required for the residence permit, Deel will notify you of the documents required for submission.
- Appointment Scheduling: Deel or our local vendor will assist in scheduling an appointment at the relevant local authority. If it's not possible for Deel or our local vendor to act on your behalf, we'll guide you on this process.
- Submission: The residence permit application has been submitted at the local authority. We await the application outcome from the local authorities. If the application was submitted by Deel or the local vendor on your behalf, we will notify you as soon as we receive confirmation of the outcome.
- Permit Collection: The application was approved; you may now collect your residence permit at the local authority.
If Your Visa Is Denied
Deel will contact you to discuss the next steps, including a potential appeal if assessed to be suitable.
You may see the following case statuses in Deel:
[ACCORDION] Appeal (only if applicable)
Your case may be transitioned to this stage if the Deel Mobility team or our local vendor has assessed a potential suitability for appeal after an application rejection by the authorities.
You may see one of the following statuses at this stage:
- Appeal Review: Deel is reviewing the rejection decision made by the authorities, and designing an appeal case strategy. We may contact you to discuss the next steps.
- Documentation Collection: If required for the appeal, Deel will notify you of the documents required for submission.
- Appeal Submitted: Deel/our local vendor has submitted the appeal to the authorities. No further action is required from you; please hang tight until Deel or our local vendor contacts you on the appeal outcome.
