Before you begin
Please make sure you have the following permissions:
Deel: You must be an Org Admin, IT Developer Admin, or Integrations Admin-People to set up this integration.
Lever: You must have admin rights in Lever.
Connecting your Lever account
✅ Step 1: Select the App Store tab on your home page
✅ Step 2: Select Lever from the list of integrations
✅ Step 3: Review the Agreement and click Connect
You will now be prompted to sign in to your Lever account to authenticate the integration.
✅ Step 4: Review permissions and authorize by clicking Accept
Deel requires access to candidates, opportunities requisitions, requisition fields, webhooks, and offline access in order to generate contracts in Deel when you hire someone in Lever. Once you have reviewed permissions, you can authorize the integration by clicking Accept.
Well done! You have now connected your Lever account to Deel. Now you need to configure your integration.
Configure your Lever integration
Follow these steps to configure your Lever integration.
✅ Step 1: Login to your Lever account and locate the settings menu
✅ Step 2: From settings navigate to Integrations and API
✅ Step 3: Select the Webhooks tab
✅ Step 4: Turn on Candidate Hire
When you set up your connection Deel will add a new webhook configuration for when you move a candidate to 'hired'. This option is initially disabled by default and you must enable it. This will enable Lever to communicate with Deel to generate a new contract.
✅ Step 5: Enable Requisitions
From Settings go to Requisitions and ensure that Enable Requisitions is turned on.
For now, you are required to use Lever’s ‘Requisitions’ feature in order for the integration to properly function. This is because it’s the only place Deel is able to install the ‘Hire remotely using Deel?’ field.
Congratulations! You are now fully set up to generate contracts via Lever. The next part of this guide will explain how to hire someone using Deel via Lever.
Onboarding a candidate from Lever to Deel
This part of the guide will explain how the integration actually works. At a top-level, the integration works by pushing candidate details to Deel when they are moved to the ‘hired’ stage and the candidate requisition is using the newly added ‘Hire remotely using Deel?’ field. Deel will then generate a ‘draft’ contract visible to client users in Deel in the contracts tab. Read on to learn how it all works.
✅ Step 1: Navigate to Requisitions in Lever and locate your candidate
Navigate to the Jobs tab, click Requisitions and select a candidate.
✅ Step 2: Review the contract type
In the Requisitions tab, you will seen an additional field was added when you connected Lever to Deel. This field Hire Remotely Using Deel includes all the contacts you can create using Deel.
✅ Step 3: Navigate to Candidates to update and make offers
✅ Step 4: Update the candidate's status to hired
Doing this will trigger the webhook to Deel. You should soon see the update on Deel.
✅ Step 5: View the candidate's contract in Deel
Once you've hired the candidate in Lever, go to your Deel dashboard and select Contracts from the navigation menu. You should see the newly hired candidate as a draft contract in Deel. Please note that it may take a few minutes for this process to occur. Get up and stretch, or grab a coffee.
If after a few minutes you still cannot locate the contract, you can use the contract status filter and select draft to view all your draft contracts as well as where they originated from.
✅ Step 6: Fill in any additional details and complete the contract
The integration will create a draft contract for the designated employee in your organization using Deel to complete contracts. Deel doesn't yet support every data mapping or the signing process via Lever so a designated individual in your organization will always need to finalize the contract in Deel and invite the group-member.
Note: You can click Open the offer in Lever which will open the offer in a new tab in case you need to go back and reference it.

Custom Mapping
Deel supports mapping data from the candidate's offer, requisition and opportunity (candidate) for text, list and numeric type fields, as well as effective date. We will continue to add custom mapping capabilities. These mappings are sometimes specific to Deel contract types.
To add a new mapping, go to the Optional Field Mapping section and select add. On the left you will see fields from Lever and on the right you can select Deel contract types.
We encourage you to configure and run some hiring test to make sure that the integration functions to your liking. Your dedicated customer success manager will have even more insights as to how to optimally configure data mappings
Email Notification Settings
We strongly recommend adding an inbox to get alerts about your Lever<>Deel integration. Primarily we will use this email to send a notification if the integration has lost authentication. This might happen if the person who originally set up the integration leaves your organization, for example.
Disable your Lever integration
You can temporarily disable the integration by scrolling to the bottom of the settings page and toggling this toggle off. Alternatively, you can click delete integration which will remove the integration and delete the webhook and custom field we set up on Lever.
