This guide explains how clients with EOR Employees and Direct Employees can connect their HiBob directory to Deel in just a few clicks for easy onboarding of their workers.
The integration is a one-way sync from HiBob into Deel Global Payroll.

Connecting Deel to HiBob
✅ Step 1 - Connect to HiBob
From the Deel home page, select the Hub icon and Apps tab. Search for HiBob and click on connect to initiate integration.
One must be an Org Admin, IT Developer Admin, or Integrations Admin-People to set up this integration.
✅ Step 2 - Enter HiBob credentials and sync information
You can do this by either using the User service ID and Token or using an API key:
For the User service ID and Token:

✅ Step 2: Also add this Service User to a custom permissions group - please follow the HiBob guide here on how to create a custom permissions group and how to give specific permissions.
The custom permissions group will need the following permissions:
For People Sync plugin:
Navigate to "Features," then "People," and select "Directory" to access the company's people directory, where a list of employees can be viewed. For more detailed information, such as personal contact details, go to "People," choose "Personal contact details," and the personal contact sections for all employees will be accessible.

For Time-Off plugin:
To see the company's time-off settings, go to "Features," then "Time Off," and select "Settings." For comprehensive insights into employee time off, navigate to "People's data," then "Time Off." Here, view all balances under "Balance," all time-off requests under "Requests," and check who's out today by selecting "See who's out today." This streamlined navigation ensures full visibility and control over time-off management within the organization.

For Payslip Sync plugin:
To use the Payslip Sync feature with the HiBob integration, navigate to the Global Payroll auto-sync payslip and end-of-year (Tax document) plugin within the HiBob integration, and activate it by clicking "enable," then "enable plugin" from the side tray that appears.
If a permission error is encountered after enabling the integration, proceed to the HiBob account. Go to settings, then account, followed by permission groups. Locate the permissions group and under the features tab, select docs, then company folder. Edit settings to activate company and employee folders, save changes, and apply them.
Next, visit the People's data tab, choose Docs, then Shared docs. Click edit and toggle the option to upload selected employees' docs into the folder. Ensure these settings are saved and applied as well.
Lastly, return to the HiBob plugin on Deel and initiate a sync by clicking the sync button. This process connects Deel and HiBob accounts, allowing for seamless payslip and tax document synchronization.
For the API key, please:
✅ Step 1 - Sign in to HiBob
✅ Step 2 - Click your avatar in the upper right
✅ Step 3 - Select API Access in the dropdown
✅ Step 4 - Copy and add the Access token
✅ Step 5 - Select all Approved scopes boxes and save
Preparing HiBob for Data Sync
People Sync plugin
This plugin will allow clients to see which group members managed in Deel have a corresponding HiBob profile.
Finding matching profiles in Hibob is the first step to configuring your integration because data is synced only for matched profiles:
Time-Off plugin
This plugin makes HiBob the source of worker time-off reporting when using Deel.
Authentication via User Service ID and Token is required to use the time-off plugin. Please note that this feature is not available to customers who have authenticated via API Key. If authenticated via API Key, re-authenticate by clicking the More button on the top right of the integration, then selecting the Re-Authenticate option.
Once configured, direct employees on the team will enter time off into HiBob instead of Deel. This will apply only to employees linked to a HiBob profile, which can be confirmed via the 'people sync' plugin.
Each Deel time-off type needs to be matched with at least one time-off type from the HRIS to complete the plugin setup.

Matching Deel and HiBob users is a critical step for the integration because data is synced only for matched profiles. The integration matches profiles by checking the user's email address. If the email provided in Deel matches a HiBob profile's email, the two users are linked.
If any users in Deel cannot be located in HiBob, it is usually because a matching profile cannot be found in HiBob. To resolve this issue, ensure that all users in Deel have a corresponding user profile in HiBob, with the same email address stored in Deel.

The integration will sync daily, at 12 noon GMT.

No, the integration does not sync or reconcile balances.

Discrepancies can arise if the total allowance in the HRIS system differs from that in Deel. To resolve this, ensure that the HRIS policy is aligned with Deel's. If alignment isn't possible, contact assigned Customer Success Manager (CSM) to discuss adjusting Deel’s contracts to better fit the company's policy where feasible.
