This article explains how Global Payroll clients can review and approve payroll packages via the Payroll Support Communications Center.
Deel allows clients to review their payroll package and either approve or report issues to a Payroll Manager (PRM) directly. If rejecting a payroll package, clients can provide feedback on payroll deliverables, and communicate requests for changes. PRMs will revise and submit a new payroll package addressing any changes needed. Clients may review and provide feedback via the Communications Center until they have a payroll package that they approve of.

If there aren’t any issues with a payroll package, clients may approve it via the Global Payroll approval flow.
✅ Step 1 – Go to the Global Payroll tab. Open an entity with "Awaiting Approval" status
Select the Payroll icon followed by Global Payroll.
✅ Step 2 – Review documentation and select Approve Payroll.
Clients can download and review both the G2N Report and Payslips from the Payroll Documents section before clicking approve.
Each document is available as a CSV that can be downloaded as a .zip file. Alternatively, clients can also see the G2N report directly in the product.
Select Approve Payroll to approve the package.
✅ Step 3 – Review the Payment Tracker on the Payment Tab
Whether clients opt to manage payroll themselves or opt to manage payroll through Deel, Deel’s platform provides visibility on the status of payroll packages as they are processed and completed.
Payment Tracker
Once the client approves a payroll package, they will be brought to the Payment tab where the Payment Tracker will provide more detail on the steps remaining to complete the cycle.

Pay By Client -
If this is a “Pay by Client” entity where clients manually manage funding, please complete the payment for the worker(s). Then, return to the Payment tab and select “Mark as Paid”. The employee payouts step in the Payroll Tracker will be marked complete and trigger the payslips to be published by the Payroll Manager (PRM).
A cycle that has been paid manually will be marked complete when the client marks the cycle as paid in Deel AND payslips have been published.

Pay Through Deel -
If this is an entity that is “Paid Through Deel”, the Payroll Tracker will outline the steps that the client and/or their Payroll Manager (PRM) need to take to complete the cycle.
A cycle paid through Deel is marked complete when funding has been received, payslips have been published, and all payouts are complete. Deel’s Payroll Tracker will update the status of the client's payroll packages as they mark their task(s) complete.
Payroll Package Status
Clients can also review the status of their payroll package under Global Payroll’s Reports Tab. The status will update as their package moves through the following three stages:

Report issues with a Payroll Package
If there is an issue with payroll, clients can create a Payroll Support Request in two different ways. They can opt to Report Issues on the Payroll Cycle or Open a Request via Payroll support.
Either method will create a ticket in the Payroll Support Communications Center where a PRM can review the issues and provide assistance.

✅ Step 1 – Go to the entity’s Payroll Tab
Select the Payroll icon followed by Global Payroll
Select an Entity with Payroll Package Status: Pending Approval
Select Payroll Tab
✅ Step 2 – Select Report Issues
✅ Step 3 – Reject Payroll Package and/or Add Issues
Check in the box to Reject Payroll Package overall and/or Add issues (support request tickets) for the payroll package.
Each issue added here will become a Payroll Support Request.
✅ Step 4 – Fill the required fields for the request. Select Add Issue.
Optional: - Toggle All Employees are affected if applicable - Click to Browse or Drag & Drop supporting documents - Toggle Submit More Requests to open another ticket |
All of the issues that have been added will be listed on the Report Payroll Issues screen. Clients can continue to Add Issues as needed or Edit Issues that they have created.
Selecting Edit Issue will allow clients to Delete the entry or update the details provided.
✅ Step 5 – Select Submit Issues
Enter the necessary details under Report Payroll Issues. Then select Submit.
The client will receive confirmation that the payroll package issues and/or rejection has been submitted.
✅ Step 6 – Review Reported Issues
If there are Reported Issues, this will be displayed under Payroll Package. Clients can select View Issues to review details.
A Payroll manager will be automatically alerted to any rejected payroll packages and receive a Payroll Support Request in the Communications Center to address any issues added to the Report Payroll Issues screen.
Note: If the client checked in the box to reject the payroll package, the status will update to "Rejected".

Select Submit Request to create a ticket.
Note: If Submit More Requests has been toggled on, a new request will open after this one is submitted.
Payroll Support Requests are to be logged in the Communications Center and will be available to review at any time under Payroll Support.

Review and Respond to Open Payroll Support Requests
Once submitted, all Payroll Requests can be accessed via Payroll Support.
Communicate with a PRM via Payroll Support to work on the issues and resolve them. Once the issues have been addressed, the PRM will submit an updated payroll package for approval.

Open an entity with Pending Approval status. Go to the Reports tab

Review and Approve a Re-Submit Payroll Package
After a PRM reviews the rejected package and the Payroll Support Request, they will resolve the issue and re-submit payroll for client approval. The re-submit payroll package will return to a Pending Approval status.
✅ Step 1 – Go to Global Payroll. Open entity with "Pending Approval" status
Select the Payroll icon followed by Global Payroll
Open an entity with Pending Approval status. Go to the Reports tab
✅ Step 2 – Select Approve Payroll
If the payroll package is ready to submit for payment, select "Approve Payroll".
Select Approve Payroll again to confirm and submit.
If there are issues with the updated package, clients may select "Report Issues" again to reject it and request another correction. Clients will repeat this process until they have a payroll package that can be approved for payment.
Emails & Notifications for Payroll Support
Clients will receive notifications within the Deel platform as well as via email when their Payroll Support Requests are updated. These prompts are here to keep clients in the loop and ensure messages are responded to in a timely manner.
