How Device Pre-Configuration Works
Our device pre-configuration service prepares each device for immediate use, whether rented or purchased. For a one-time fee of $90 per device, we handle all essential setup tasks, including:

Pre-creating user accounts so employees can log in without manual configuration

Installing required applications to ensure the right tools are ready from day one

Applying the latest security patches to safeguard your data and network
This process is designed to be efficient and effective, regardless of where your team is located:

Devices shipped to hub regions (UK, EU, USA): Our warehouse teams configure devices before shipping, so employees enjoy a true out-of-the-box experience with fully prepared and secure devices.

Devices shipped outside hub regions: Our IT team performs remote configuration (unless you opt for pre-delivery enrollment). Once shipping begins, we schedule a call with the employee to guide them through setup, ensuring the device is configured correctly and securely.
Managing Devices with Deel IT
This section explains how Deel prepares, ships, and redistributes devices so you know what to expect before your team receives them.
Device Condition and Preparation
All devices arrive with a clean operating system and any requested pre-configurations. New devices are shipped factory-sealed (unless otherwise requested), and pre-owned devices are securely wiped and restored to factory settings.
Setup Instructions
Each worker receives a secure invite with login instructions, credentials, and MDM enrollment steps (if applicable). If preferred, clients may handle this step themselves.
Redistribution and Returns
For security and compliance, devices should always be returned to Deel for wiping and preparation before being reassigned. We do not recommend peer-to-peer handoffs.
Enrolling your devices
Device enrollment links your employee’s device to Deel’s systems and ensures a secure setup. The steps vary by operating system:
- MacOS/iOS device enrollment
- Windows device enrollment
- Android device enrollment (coming soon)
Technical Support and Device Management
After setup, Deel IT continues to support you with recovery options and ongoing device management tools.
Password Recovery
If a password was created or recorded during configuration, Deel can provide a recovery key. Contact Deel Support for help.
Mobile Device Management (MDM)
For continuous device management, Deel offers MDM through our partnership with JumpCloud. This service allows you to enforce policies, configure settings, and manage devices remotely.
