One of the IT services offered by Deel IT is device pre-configuration. When an organisation opts into our device pre-configuration service (whether it is rented or purchased), this includes pre-creating user accounts, installing applications and updating the device to the latest security patch. Our standard device configuration fee is £70/$90/€82.5, charged once per device, per configuration.
[ACCORDION] How are laptops pre-configured?
If an device is shipped within one of our hub regions (UK, EU or USA), our warehouse team will configure the laptop before shipping.
Devices delivered outside of our hub regions (outside of the UK, EU or USA), will be configured remotely via a call with our IT team once the laptop is delivered.
[ACCORDION] What if I don't have access to Deel?
If you don't have access to the Deel platform, you will receive the password in your shipping confirmation email. If you haven’t received your password via email, please reach out to Deel support.
[ACCORDION] How are redistributed laptops configured?
When a device is sent to a new user from an existing user, the previous user is directed to "Erase All Contents and Settings" before sending the device.
The new user will then create an account on the device, the same as you would for a new device. If your organisation uses an MDM, the new user will need to enroll into the MDM using the organisation's self-enrollment page. Users should reach out to their organisation's Deel IT manager to obtain the link.
If your organisation has additional steps to take or requirements for new users of redistributed laptops, we suggest that you reach out to your organisation's internal IT team for further instruction.
[ACCORDION] Can you help if I changed my password and then forgot it?
Yes, we can help provide a recovery key! Please reach out to Deel IT support.
Can you help if I changed my password and then forgot it?
For every device configured, a pre-configuration fee of £70/$90/€82.5 will be added to your next invoice with the relevant contract reference number.
[ACCORDION] What is the difference between ABM and MDM?
ABM provides the infrastructure for device enrolment and central management control, while MDM offers the tools and features to implement policies, configure settings, and manage devices on an ongoing basis.
ABM serves as the enrolment platform, facilitating the initial setup and configuration of devices with pre-defined MDM profiles. Once enrolled through ABM, the devices are then managed and controlled by the MDM system.
We offer MDM and pre-configuration as two separate services. For more on our MDM services, please see Mobile Device Management with Jumpcloud.
[ACCORDION] In which locations can Deel IT offer ABM?
With the Hofy migration into Deel, Deel IT is working to expand the ABM enrollment capabilities. We currently offer ABM enrolment in our core regions of the UK, EU, and US, along with an expanding list of other countries.
To begin using our pre-configuration services, please reach out to your Account Owner for more details.
