Direct Debit ACH
Direct Debit ACH is the default payment method for US payroll. ACH payments require 49 hours to clear before funds are available to Deel. Due to this processing time, clients must approve payroll at least 4 days before the employee’s pay date.

- Employee Pay Date: October 25
- Approval Date: October 21
- Followed Timeline with Direct Debit ACH:
- 10/21 (approval)
- 10/22 (day 1), 10/23 (day 2), 10/24 (day 3),
- 10/25 (pay date = day 4 )
Example 2:
- Employee Pay Date - October 15, 2024
- Approval Date: October 8, 2024
- Timeline:
- October 8 (approval),
- October 9 (day 1), October 10 (day 2), October 11 (day 3), October 12 (Saturday), October 13 (Sunday), October 14 (banking holiday)
- October 15 (pay date)
Additional Payment Information: Cutoff for same day ACH payments is 3:30 PM EST .
Bank Transfer (Wire)
Bank Transfers (Wires) are the fastest payment method and are the recommended payment method for urgent payroll scenarios, such as terminations or last-minute approvals.
Wire payments typically clear the same day, which can prevent delays when ACH processing is not feasible.
