Overview
This article explains how partners can request access to a client's Deel account directly through the Partner Portal — no Partnership Manager needed. Access is always granted by the client organization's admin, and the level of visibility depends on the permissions and groups they assign.
Before you begin
You must be:
- A Deel Partner with access to the Deel Partner Portal
- The client organization must have an active Deel account
How to access a client's Deel account through the portal
Step 1 – Send a linking request
- From the Partner Portal, go to Clients → Link existing client.
- Share the invitation link or send it directly to your client by email. See Link a client organization to the Partner Portal for the full steps.
Step 2 – Client admin approves and assigns access
- An organization admin on the client's side reviews the request and chooses which groups to share with you.
- Once approved, you (and any admins in your partner organization) are added to the client's account with the Partner Admin role, and the linking status changes from Pending to Active.
What access do I get?
As Partner Admin, your access depends on the groups the client shared with you — you'll only see and manage what falls within those groups. The client can expand, limit, or revoke your access at any time from Organization settings → Roles and permissions.
Frequently asked questions
Can I request access to a client account directly without going through a Partnership Manager?
Yes. Partners can request access directly from the Partner Portal by sending a linking request to the client. The client's organization admin reviews and approves the request — no Partnership Manager is required.
What determines what I can see in a client's Deel dashboard?
Your access depends on which groups the client's organization admin assigned you to when they approved the linking request. The client can expand, limit, or revoke this at any time from Roles and permissions.
Why is "Log into client account" greyed out?
This button unlocks only after the client approves your linking request and assigns you to at least one group. If it's still greyed out, check with your client that both steps are complete.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Did you try? | How to fix |
|---|---|---|
| Client account is not visible in the Partner Portal | Checking the linking request status | Confirm the client has approved the request. The status changes from Pending to Active once approved. |
| "Log into client account" is greyed out | Checking whether a group has been assigned | Ask the client's organization admin to confirm they've approved the request and assigned you to at least one group. Both steps are required before the button unlocks. |
| Access is limited or certain sections are not visible | Verifying the groups configured by the client admin | Ask the client's organization admin to expand which groups they've shared with you from Roles and permissions. |
