This article will explain how clients can easily pay contractors and employees via bank transfer.
Clients who pay via bank transfer can lock in their exchange rate and fees when they generate the invoices for payment.
Clients can also save the country and currency details so they are easily available in the future.
International (SWIFT) bank transfers can take three to seven business days to process
The Payments tab is only visible to approved payers. If the user is not an authorized payer, they will not have a payment widget on the home screen and will not see a payment area in the menu

Adding Bank Transfer as a Payment Method
Before paying workers, clients must first add their preferred payment method.
✅ Step 1 - Add Payment Method
From the homepage, navigate to Organization Settings and select View on the Billings & Payments card.
Next, select Payment Methods, then click Add Method.
✅ Step 2 - Choose the option Save manual transfer details
Manual transfer saves transfer details for a wire transfer from your bank, Wise or Mercury account.
✅ Step 3 - Select Bank Transfer and click Continue
Bank transfers have a $5 provider fee.
✅ Step 4 - Add transfer details
Clients will be asked to provide their bank location and currency.
Manual transfers are done outside the Deel platform through your local bank account.
Making a Payment with a Bank Transfer
✅ Step 1 – Click the Pay box straight from the home page
The home page will show payments that are due. Clients can also access this information from the Payments tab via the Payroll icon.
The Payments tab is enabled only for organization-approved payers.
✅ Step 2 – Select contractors to pay and click Review & Pay
Use the filters to select invoices by contract type, currency, entity, group, and more.
By default, all invoices will be checked, allowing payment for everyone at once. However, it is possible to mass unselect and choose only the specific individuals for payment.
The estimated total due for all selected invoices will be presented in USD. When the payment flow is initiated to begin paying workers, the currency can be changed, and the new amount and currency will be reflected on the platform.
✅ Step 3 – Select the bank transfer option to continue with the payment
The preferred payment method will automatically be the default, but it can always switch to a different method as desired
✅ Step 4 – Fill out the details and click Continue
Click the box to save the bank transfer details for future use, if needed.
✅ Step 5 – Review the information and click Confirm and Pay
Carefully review the payment summary box. For the client's benefit, the Deel fee and the payment processing fee are listed separately.
Deel must receive the payment by the date listed in the payment summary box. Payment processing times can be between two and seven business days, depending on location.
✅ Step 6 – Fill out the bank account details and pay via bank transfer
Clients can download the invoice from this page. Once the invoice is generated, clients must send the payment manually from their bank and Deel must receive the payment by the listed date.
Make sure to choose correctly between a local transfer or an international (SWIFT) bank transfer depending on the payment location.
Please copy the Deel reference number listed in the invoice details box.
This number is used to reconcile invoices with payments, so please copy it for personal records
