Clients can track and manage EOR and contractor time off requests on the Deel platform. They will receive a notification each time an employee submits a time off request.
The clients can also set approvers for a given time off policy and assign workers under that time off policy. The approvers of a time off policy can review and approve the time off requests from the workers. The approvers can also request, edit, and delete time off requests on behalf of any workers or configure any policy on which they are approvers.
Local rules for PTO and other leaves vary by jurisdiction.

Different Leave Types
There are three different types of leave on the Deel platform.
Vacation is the employee’s annual paid time off (PTO) allocation. This leave type will deduct days from their annual PTO balance.
Sick Leave is used when illness renders the employee unable to work. Rules regarding documentation and full or partial payment of wages while on sick leave vary by jurisdiction.
Other leave covers all other types of paid and unpaid leave, including maternity and parental leaves, life-events, and civic duties.
Important: The available leave types vary by country and are configured to match the local laws of each country.
How to Review Time Off Requests
Time off requests will appear on the approver's homepage on the Deel platform.
✅ Step 1 – Click on View Tasks
Clients can find the pending time off requests under the For You Today section on their homepage.
✅ Step 2 – Select a request to review
The details of the request will appear in the time off card, including information about the description, as well as employees total vacation days balance and how many days they’ve already used.
✅ Step 3 –Approve or Deny the request
Clients will be asked to confirm their approval or rejection of the employee’s request. Employees will be notified of the status of their leave request.
How to Track Employees' Time Off Requests and History
Clients can easily track employees’ previous and current time off requests in the Time Off tab.
✅ Step 1 – Select the People icon, and from the All People tab click on the employee whose record is to be reviewed.
✅ Step 2 – Click on the Time Off tab.
After selecting an employee clients can simply navigate to Time Off tab on their profile overview page.
Here, they can review, approve or deny pending requests and review details of the employee’s leave history.
Clients can also easily see workers who are away, coming back from time off soon, or going on leave soon via the Who is Away Today card on their homepage.
How to Mass-Approve Time Off Requests:
Clients can quickly and easily approve all of their employees’ time off requests at once.
✅ Step 1 – Click Review to see all of the requests
Clients will see a notification in the For You Today Section on their Homepage.
✅ Step 2 – Check the box to select all of the requests, then select Approve all
Clients will be asked to confirm their approvals. Once completed the system will send a notification to the employees.
How to View an Employee's Vacation History
Clients can review an employee’s time off history, as well as current requests and scheduled time off, in the Time Off tab.
✅ Step 1 – Select the employee whose time off is to be reviewed
✅ Step 2 - Click on the Time Off tab
Clients can also see who is on their scheduled time off by selecting the People Icon on their Homepage. The employee's scheduled time off will be displayed below their names in the People list.

Yes, by clicking into the requests from their homepage, clients can select the checkbox at the top of their requests list and approve all.

Yes, the employee will be informed immediately when the client approves or denies a time off request.

Yes, clients can add an optional reason for denial when denying a time off request.

Depending on how country policies are configured the employee may be able to request more than their PTO allowance. Both the client and the employee will have visibility of their balance and the client can choose how to proceed.
