Why does Hofy add country multipliers?
Hofy operates on a global scale so our pricing reflects the costs we take on with manufacturers and suppliers around the world. We show our customers transparent pricing in every region. Our equipment catalogue prices are now benchmarked against manufacturers' prices in the US.
While reviewing our catalogue, you may notice some countries have a number next to them, for example 1.5x. This is the country multiplier in that particular region.
In part, this multiplier reflects the cost and tax difference between each region and the US. The country multiplier also accounts for additional costs associated with delivering equipment outside of the UK, EU and US, which are factored into our prices. These include but are not exclusive to:
- Manufacturer’s cost
- Sales tax
- Import duty
Note: These costs apply to all suppliers, including Apple, Dell and Lenovo.
For example, the price to order a MacBook directly on the Apple website in the United States is different than the price of the same device in Brazil.
[ACCORDION] Where can you find country multipliers in Hofy?
We've made it easier for you to keep track of these costs by including the country multiplier at the point of ordering, and also by stating it within our catalogue offering.
Excluding taxes and VAT, everything is already factored into the final price for your convenience so there will be no surprises when you receive your next invoice from Hofy.
[ACCORDION] What does it mean for ordering through Hofy?
We multiply the list price of the product by a multiplier specific to each country. As an example, a Dell monitor that costs $13.68 per month in the US with a 1.0x multiple will cost $17.78 per month with a 1.3x multiple in India.
When approving items in a team catalogue or ordering in the platform, the price will be be broken down as shown in the example below.
You can review the entire breakdown of your final price, including applicable discounts and our country multiplier.
You may also review our pricing sheets and complete list of country multiples by accessing the 'Settings' page within the platform and selecting the 'Terms & Conditions and Pricing Sheet' button at the top-right corner of the page.
