Track and manage assets
We've completely redesigned our asset tracker to make managing your IT assets simpler and more intuitive than ever. The new interface gives you everything you need in one place – a complete view of your device lifecycle from deployment to clearance.
Asset Tracker Enhancements
Here is a list of the new capabilities:
- An aggregate view of assets allows you to see the big picture of their entire IT inventory at a glance, with summary statistics and asset location overview
- Quick view allows you to gain complete device lifecycle visibility in a single view without switching screens
- You can now perform key actions directly from the asset list using the More Actions menu. Available actions include: device clearance, assign to worker, return to storage or archive asset
- Tailor your reports views using our customize columns tool by selecting the columns that matter to you. Your preferences are saved to your profile for easy access next time. Custom columns include: storage location, asset location, Add-ons, ongoing services, status update date, MDM enrollment and device properties e.g. grade, operating system etc.
How to use Asset Tracker in the Deel IT Platform
Here’s a quick guide to help you stay on top of your IT assets:
- From your Deel homepage, go to IT > Assets
- Quick View gives you a snapshot of key asset details and recent activity without having to leave the main page. This information includes the asset location, current service and tracking details.
- Click on view to dive deeper and access:
- Tracking – view current services and a full activity log including collection survey results
- Service Packages – see enrolled add-ons like Device Lifecycle Management
- Shipment Details – track delivery or collection status
- Uploaded Documents – access any related files e.g. agreements
- Use the More actions menu to perform tasks such as clearing a device, assigning it to a worker, returning it to storage, or archiving the asset. If you see an action greyed out, it means that option isn’t available for the asset based on its current status.
Deel IT device grading system
As part of our efforts to equip the world’s top remote talent, we use a straightforward
grading system in line with industry standards to help assess and communicate the condition of each
laptop. Our grading system goes from A (Excellent condition) down to F (non-functional or very damaged).
This grading system allows us to ensure that you’re informed about the state of any device,
providing transparency and enabling you to make choices that best fit your preferences and
requirements.
The grading categories are designed to give you a clear understanding of each laptop’s
condition. Each grade reflects a thorough inspection process, focusing on aspects like appearance, functionality, and overall wear. Our goal is to set the right expectations so that, regardless of grade, you can feel confident in the quality and performance of the device you receive.
Grade A: Excellent condition
These devices are in excellent condition, with no visible scratches on the screen or body, and they
perform like new. They come with original packaging for a premium experience.
Grade B: Good condition
In very good condition, these devices may show only minimal signs of use, such as barely noticeable
scratches when held at arm's length. They remain fully functional and professional in appearance.
Grade C: Worn condition
Laptops in this grade have light but visible signs of wear, including shallow scratches on the screen that
are unnoticeable when in use. While fully functional, the visible wear may impact overall presentation.
Grade D: Damaged condition
Devices in this category show significant signs of use, such as cracked screens or damaged body parts.
Although functional, the condition may be unsuitable for professional settings.
Grade F: Very damaged or non-functional
These laptops are non-functional and/or suffer from major cosmetic or operational issues that prevent
reliable use.
