Every hiring process in Deel follows three core stages, each with required sub-stages that form the foundation of your interview workflow. Organization administrators can further customize these stages by adding optional sub-stages and reusing templates across multiple job postings.
This article explains the interview stages in Deel ATS.

Here’s what you’ll find in this article:
Before you begin
To successfully access any Deel ATS interview stages, you’ll need:
- A user with an org admin role on Deel
- A user with a Deel ATS admin, participant, or member role
Stage 1. Lead
Admins can get new leads in two ways:
- When someone applies via the job offer, they immediately appear as a lead on that open job post
- When someone from the existing pool is added to the job
Candidates can be manually assigned either while being created or by navigating to an open job post and clicking Assign candidates.
However, if set in the interview plan, they can be assigned as a participant, and the admin can choose to send emails.
1.2. Reached out
This is a manual action that depends on what the admin or member considers as reaching out. This can admins and members done without being assigned as a participant.
Admins can dedicate themselves or a specific person to do this, and send an email to the hiring members, candidate or workers.
1.3. Replied
This is a manual action that depends on what the admin or member considers as replied. Also, this can admins and members without being assigned as a participant.
Stage 2. Active
2.1. Application review
Ideally, if the admin itself is not doing it, they need to assign a participant (whether the member itself or someone else) to do it. As soon as the candidate is moved to this stage, the participant gets an email
If the feedback is no longer needed, the participant will be also notified via email
In the case that there are more stages, in the interview plan, a hiring manager or member can assign participants to perform this. Each participant will receive an email (if this option is chosen) and will find the task in their worker app under Workspace > Hiring

Once the participant submits feedback, this is the screen they will see.
Once the feedback is submitted, here is what the admin or hiring member sees, they can both initiate the offer creation.
If, after the evaluation stage the candidate is a yes, the hiring manager or member will move the candidate to the offer stage and send the offer out. If the offer is accepted, the candidate is moved to hired, otherwise to archived.
2.2. Offer sent
Once the offer is created, the admin can send an automated email to the candidate.
Stage 3. Completed
3.1. Hired - Candidate accepts the offer.
3.2. Archived - Candidate declines or is disqualified.
