When hiring with Talent, clients can choose to work with a vetted talent partner or select candidates from a pre-vetted talent pool through a self-serve flow that integrates external talent marketplaces directly into the Talent platform
This article explains how clients can use the self-serve flow. For more details on working with a vetted talent partner, please see the Hiring with Talent article.
Steps to Hire Through the Talent Self-Serve Flow
The self-serve flow is best for clients who want to:
- Fill urgent roles and review candidates quickly
- Instantly browse candidates
- Connect directly with candidates without managing third-party vendors
✅ Step 1 - Creating a Job Request
From the Talent tab, select the option Create Job Request.
Clients will be asked to provide the following information:
- Main details: Job title, job type and role, industry, work mode, location, and job description. Clients can use Deel AI to help generate the job description.
During the job request creation flow, if clients are unsure where to hire, they can use Deel’s Global Hiring Insights to discover the best countries to hire from based on their criteria.
- Contract details: Number of open positions, worker type (contractor or employee), start date, and optional end date (if applicable).
- Compensation: Currency, compensation type (hourly, daily, monthly, etc.), and the minimum and maximum compensation that can be offered for the position.
- Optional job details: Minimum experience required, and whether the role is full-time or part-time.
- Hiring settings: Select the approval policy and specify which team members will receive tasks and notifications for candidates at the Offer or Hire stages.
✅ Step 2 - Decide how to use Talent
To go ahead with the self-serve flow, select Browse candidates.
✅ Step 3 - Review the matched candidates
Clients will see a list of recommended candidates. By clicking on a candidate, they can view more details such as work experience, education, salary expectations, and more.
To view additional candidates, click See all.
✅ Step 4 - Request an interview
Clients can request an interview with selected candidates by clicking Request Interview. They will then be able to share the interviewer's calendar, name, email, interview duration, and a message with the candidate.
Clients will be notified as soon as the candidate responds.
From the job request page, clients can view the status of all candidates they have selected for an interview, including rejected candidates, candidates who have already been interviewed, and candidates who are ready to receive an offer or be hired.
By clicking on a specific candidate, clients can track their progress, chat with them, and approve or reject them.
✅ Step 5 - Send Offer
Once the candidate is approved, they will move to the offer stage. Clients can click Send Offer to send it to the candidate. Most of the information will be pre-filled, but it’s important to double-check the compensation.
Switching Between Self-Serve and Talent Partners
Clients are not limited to a single sourcing method for a job request. A requisition can be supported by both the self-serve candidate pool and Talent Partners.
If you start with the self-serve flow and the candidates are not a good fit, you can request help from Talent Partners to source additional candidates.
Similarly, if a job request was initially shared with Talent Partners, you can later explore additional candidates from the platform’s talent pool.
To do this, open the job request and click Find more candidates on the job request details page.
