Deel is available as a pre-configured application in the Okta Integration Network (OIN): Okta's app catalog. This is the simplest way to set up SSO with Deel and requires no custom configuration.
Benefits of using the OIN app:
- No custom setup or credentials needed
- Add Deel directly from Okta's app catalog
- Deel handles all pre-configuration
- Faster deployment
Step 1: Add Deel from the Okta App Catalog
- In the Okta Admin Console, go to Applications › Applications › Browse App Catalog.
- Search for Deel.
- Click on the Deel app result.
- Click Add Integration.
Step 2: Configure the App in Okta
You'll see a configuration page with Deel's pre-configured settings.
- Give the app a label (e.g., "Deel SSO") if you want to customize it.
- Click Next.
Step 3: Assign Users in Okta
- On the Assignments tab, assign the Deel app to users or groups who should have SSO access.
- You can assign by:
- Users: Add individual users
- Groups: Add entire groups for bulk assignment
- Click Save.
Step 4: Enable SSO in Deel
- In Deel, go to More › Apps.
- Search for SAML 2.0.
- Click Connect.
- Paste your Okta Metadata URL (provided by Okta) in the Metadata URL field.
- Click Connect and Go to Settings.
- Review the configuration.
- Click Enable to activate SSO.
Step 5: Test SSO
- Have an assigned user try logging into Deel.
- They should be redirected to Okta for authentication.
- After authenticating with Okta, they'll be logged into Deel.
Disable SSO (If Needed)
To turn off SSO later:
- In Deel, go to More › Apps.
- Find your SAML 2.0 integration.
- Click More › Disconnect.
Troubleshooting
Users are not seeing the Deel app in Okta
Make sure users or groups are assigned to the Deel app on the Assignments tab in Okta. Unassigned users will not see it.
SSO login is not working
Verify that:
- The user is assigned to the Deel app in Okta
- SSO is enabled in Deel (check More › Apps › SAML 2.0)
- Your Okta domain and metadata URL are correct
Need a custom setup?
If you prefer OpenID Connect (OIDC) instead of SAML 2.0, or need custom OIDC configuration, see How to Setup OpenID Connect Integration with Okta for Single Sign-On.
