Workers on the Workday PECI integration can now split their salary across multiple bank accounts in a single pay cycle. Configure salary distribution by fixed amount, percentage of pay, or remaining balance, with a priority system that protects primary accounts if a paycheck falls short.

Before you begin
Make sure you have:
- The new Workday PECI integration version. The new PECI version is currently in rollout. If you're a new client or want to migrate from the legacy version, ask your Deel account team for the new integration URL. They'll provide setup credentials.
- Updated Workday payment election rules. By default, Workday limits payment elections to 1. Your Workday admin or system integrator must update this rule to allow 2, 3, or more, depending on how many accounts each worker needs.
- PECI export enabled for payment election rules. Your Workday admin should verify in the Integration System that all payment election rules are set to export in your PECI data feed.
Step 1: Update Workday payment election rules
- Open the payment election rule in Workday
- Remove the maximum limit of 1 election, or increase it to the number of accounts you need
- Save and publish the changes
- Confirm all affected payment election rules are set to export in your PECI file
Step 2: Map bank accounts in Workday
The new integration uses Bank Information Selector (a multi-value field) instead of fixed indexes. For most clients, this is already configured. No additional setup is needed.
If you need to customize the mapping, work with your Workday system integrator to ensure the Bank Information Selector captures all required account details and distribution methods.
Step 3: Test and validate
Once the set up is configured:
- Run a sync from Workday to Deel
- Check worker profiles in Deel to verify all bank accounts and distribution amounts appear correctly
- Test with a pilot group before rolling out company-wide
How distribution works
When a paycheck is processed, the integration distributes pay across accounts in the following order:
| Distribution method | How it works |
| Fixed amount | A specified dollar amount is sent to each account |
| Percentage | A percentage of total pay is distributed to each account |
| Remaining balance | After fixed and percentage amounts are paid, the remainder goes to the priority account |
Priority handling
Accounts are ordered by priority. If a paycheck is short (for example, due to unpaid leave), lower-priority accounts absorb the shortfall first. The primary account is always protected.
Known limitations
- The sync is triggered at the next scheduled sync interval. It is not immediate. If you need account changes reflected urgently, manually update the worker in Deel.
- If bank accounts are not syncing correctly, verify your Workday payment election rules allow multiple elections and are exported in the PECI feed. Contact your Deel representative if the issue persists.
