This article explains how to duplicate contracts for Independent Contractors.
This is a useful feature if you want to create multiple contacts with the same or similar terms and conditions like title, job scope, rates of pay, invoice schedule, and contracting entity or group.
After duplicating the contract you will have the option of confirming or updating certain contract details.
✅ Step 1 - Select a Contract to Duplicate
Go to the People icon on the home page. Select an employee from the list to access their profile.
Under Contracts/Agreements, Select View Contract for the contract that will be duplicated.
Click the the Actions menu (three dots icon) to the right of "Download Contract PDF".
Click Duplicate Contract.
✅ Step 2 - Create new profile
Enter the contractor's name, email, and start date.
Follow the in-platform prompts to confirm or modify the contract details.
✅ Step 3 - Enter payment details
Choose when the contractor will receive their first payment, and confirm invoice cycle details.
Click Duplicate Contract.
✅ Step 4 - Review and sign
You or a group member can review and sign the contract, and invite your contractor to do the same.
You also have the option of delegating the client signature to another group member or switching the signing order so that your contractor signs first
FAQ
[ACCORDION] Can someone else sign the contract that I created?
Clients can sign contracts (agreements) themselves or have someone else sign on their behalf through a process known as delegate signing. You can invite any team member with Group Admin Access in Deel to sign as your delegate. If your chosen delegate does not have a Deel account, you can invite them to sign as an external delegate.
Your invitation to sign the contract as a delegate will be sent as an email via the Deel platform. Once the client signature is completed by you or your delegate, you can invite the contractor to sign and activate the contract.
More details on this process is available in the Delegate Signing Help Center article.
For more details on Group Admins and what they're permitted and unable to do, see this Help Center article on the different roles for group managers.
