How to Assign Manager role in the organization
What is a Manager in Deel?
Clients can represent their entire workforce and organizational structure by assigning Managers (a type of worker relation) or creating Department Roles (such as Head of Department). Both types fall under the category of Managers.
A Manager is any worker with direct reports. Managers play a crucial role in the organization, helping to manage day-to-day tasks effectively and maintain proper access control for sensitive data. A manager can view people, contracts and payments, including approve time off requests with multi-level permissions.
To grant approval permission for various policies like time-off, time-tracking, and data change requests clients can select Manager roles as an approver on the approval policies page.
Workers who are assigned as Managers have permission to:
- View the list of direct reports on the Home screen
- View an expanded worker profile with additional employment details for their direct reports
- Approve time-off, time-tracking, and data change requests for direct reports based on the approval permissions configured in the approval policies by the client.
- Managers can also view Time Off requests for their direct reports, as well as the requests of their direct reports. Similarly, Department heads are able to view Time Off for any of the people within their department.
