If you’ve received a tax notice from a government or state agency, you can submit it directly through the Deel platform. No need to contact support — just upload your notice, and our team will handle the rest.
You can also track the status of any submitted notice from the same page at any time.
How to submit a tax notice
- Log in to your Deel account
- Go to Payroll > Tax documents > Tax notices
- Click Submit notice
- Upload your notice as a PDF or image file
- Deel will automatically read the document and extract the key details (this takes around 8–10 seconds)
- A summary of the extracted information will appear — review it, make any edits if needed, and confirm
- Click Submit
Your notice will now appear as a row on the Tax notices tab with a status of Received.
Tracking your notice status
You can return to Payroll > Tax documents > Tax notices at any time to check the status of a submitted notice.
Here’s what each status means:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Received | Your notice has been logged and is awaiting assignment |
| Under review | A Deel specialist has been assigned and is reviewing the notice |
| In progress | Your notice is actively being worked on |
| Action required | There’s something you need to do to move forward — a Deel team member will reach out to you directly |
| Resolved | Your notice has been fully closed |
💡 Note: If your notice status is Action required, keep an eye on your inbox. A Deel team member will contact you with the next steps.
For US Payroll tax notices only
Depending on the type of notice you received, you may be able to take action directly on the platform without waiting for our team. Here are the most common ones:
Power of Attorney (POA)
If you’ve received a request to sign a Power of Attorney form so Deel can act on your behalf with a tax agency, you can sign it digitally. Ask the Authorized Signatory of your company to go to People > Documents > Documents to sign, and sign any not signed documents.
Third-Party Administrator (TPA) access
If your notice is related to granting Deel access to your state tax account, you can complete this in your state’s tax portal. Learn how to grant Deel access to your state tax accounts →
SUTA / SUI rate change
If you’ve received a notice with an updated unemployment tax rate for a state, you can update it directly on Deel:
- Go to Organization Settings > Entities
- Select the relevant entity
- Open the Payroll subtab
- Scroll down to Registrations
- Click View next to the relevant state
- Update the rate and save
